Why does food cost so much—and what could make it more affordable in Alaska?

Join us at UAA for a free, interactive public forum with three leading food economics researchers: Craig Gundersen of Baylor University, David Ortega of Michigan State University, and Nicholas Li of Toronto Metropolitan University. They’ll share insights on food insecurity, grocery prices, and the challenges of getting food to remote northern communities before opening the conversation to your questions.

Alaska Book Week starts this Saturday, Oct. 3!

Join us for a special poetry reading with Joan Naviyuk Kane to kick off the festivities.

Join UAA professors Sharon Emmerichs, Toby Widdicombe, and English students to explore why, how, and where Shakespeare endures and remains relevant today.

The 2026 CBPP Showcase: Democracy in Action will bring together a political journalist, a public pollster, and a former state elected official for a conversation about Alaska’s governor’s race.

What’s happened so far? What are Alaskans watching? And what should we be paying attention to as the race moves toward November?

Join us for a conversation designed to provide context, perspective, and a closer look at one of the most closely watched political races in Alaska.

There is an additional flu shot clinic in Rasmusson Hall Lobby on 10/7 from 10am to 3pm.
