Saint Innocent Russian Orthodox Cathedral

Our first class on "How to Read in Church" will begin at 6:00 PM tonight. The class is open to anyone who would like to begin reading in Church or to those who have an interest in learning more about the divine services of the Church. There will be a total of three classes, each on Friday at 6:00 PM.

The monthly cleaning day is this Saturday at 10am!

As we prepare to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Theotokos and the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life-giving Cross, we will gather this Saturday at 10 AM to clean and prepare our church.

Everyone is invited to come and lend a hand as we prepare our temple for these beautiful and holy celebrations. Please don’t feel that you need to stay for the entire time, even if you can only spare an hour, your help is greatly appreciated!

There is always something that can be done, and when we work together, our small efforts become an offering of love to God and to our parish community.

Dear Saint Innocent Cathedral,
Spraznikom!

We will be ushering in the New Year with Divine Liturgy at 8:00 AM! Tomorrow marks the reset of the liturgical calendar, but also provides a chance to renew our commitment to the spiritual life.

Indiction, Troparion , Tone II —
O Fashioner of all creation,/Who in Thine authority hast appointed the times and seasons: bless Thou the crown of the year with Thy goodness, O Lord, preserving in peace Orthodox Christians and Thy city, and save us through the prayers of the Theotokos.

His Eminence Archbishop Alexei, along with our Father Thomas and Matushka Lucia have arrived in Homer to begin the concelebrations with the Anicent Rite Russian Orthodox parish of Holy Transfiguration!

Tomorrow Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will begin at 8:45am with the vesting of Archbishop Alexei. This weekend Hieromartyr Eutyches is commemorated, his life will be included in the weekly bulletin.

Following Liturgy we will also have our final summer potluck, please bring a dish to share with fellow parishioners and visitors! Volunteers are also needed for cleanup, please see Matushka Lucia if you have questions.

Sisterhood bake sales will resume after Labor Day. If you would like to join a group please let a member of the Sisterhood know! Potlucks will still continue once a month, and volunteers will continue to be needed to bring food and cleanup.

The blessing of the schoolchildren will happen next Sunday (Sept 13th), please bring your students to be blessed by Father Thomas! (College students also welcome.)

Church school will be resuming on Sunday September 20th! Registration forms will be available at the starosta stand.

With the blessing of Father Thomas, we are posting an approved GoFundMe link to assist with the burial costs for the unexpected falling asleep of the servant of God, Peter Kashevarof, son to Father Andrew and Matushka Alexandra Kashevarof. The family has raised most of the funds needed and asked for help with the final leg. May every offering be blessed and the memory of Peter be eternal in the Kingdom

Funeral details will be posted once confirmed:
