Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

Who is God speaking to? The animals…the devil…the angels? Was man made in the image of the animals, or the devil, or the angels? The Bible is clear that God is a Triune Being. The Hebrew word “Elohiym” is a plural word. This is the word translated “God.”
1 John 5:7 says: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” Various cults try to make Elohiym, God the Father, while Jesus is reduced to the level of a lesser, created god. That is impossible to reconcile with the following verses:

Isaiah 45:6, 7 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Colossians 1:16 For by (Jesus in the context) him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Jesus is God. He created all things. To deny that you must believe one of these verses is wrong. Thus, the Bible is no longer your Authority. You now answer only to your opinion.

The first chapter of the Word of God gives us three major keys to understanding God, and to understanding man’s place in God’s plan. The first major key deals with Authority.

1. AUTHORITY-Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the
heaven and the earth.
Man is a created being. We did not evolve from gas, to protoplasm, to fish, to monkey, to man. An all-knowing, all-powerful God created us. As such, He is in a position of authority over us. Man’s attempts to legitimize evolution and reincarnation: or attempts to put us in a preexistent spiritual state with God are unscriptural. They are simply attempts to circumvent God’s Authority. The first verse of the Scripture rules out many of man’s ways.
a. Atheism-Fools deny the existence of God
b. Agnosticism-God is known through His creation
c. Polytheism-Teaches that there are many gods.
d. Pantheism-Teaches that all creation is god.
e. Evolution-The universe came into being by chance.
f. Materialism-Teaches that matter is eternal.
g. Fatalism-Teaches there is no Divine plan.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Proverbs 14:12
