As flood recovery continues across Madison County, several organizations are providing assistance and volunteer opportunities today. We’ve gathered some of the most useful Tuesday-specific resources below.
CLOTHING, SUPPLIES & ESSENTIAL NEEDS

Flood cleanup supplies and other essential items are available for families affected by the flooding.

Operation Love Ministries

Clothing, household necessities and emergency food distribution for Madison County residents, including families affected by the flooding.
Jacara’s Closet – D26 Career Center

Walk-ins are welcome for families impacted by flooding who need clothing.

SHELTER
The Salvation Army – Anderson

Emergency shelter remains available **24 hours a day** for residents displaced by flooding. Call **765-644-2538** for current availability.
CLEANUP & RECOVERY
The City of Anderson has placed flood-debris dumpsters throughout affected neighborhoods at no cost to residents and businesses. Flood-related permit fees and City utility connect/disconnect fees for affected properties are also being waived, and CATS and Nifty-Lift fares remain suspended.
Residents needing help with home cleanup and recovery can also request assistance through IDES, and volunteers can register with IDES to assist with organized flood-recovery work.
LOOKING TO VOLUNTEER?
Please use coordinated volunteer efforts rather than self-deploying into affected neighborhoods.
IDES, South Madison Community Foundation, Heart of Indiana United Way and Indiana 211 are helping connect volunteers with identified recovery needs. Links are available on our full resource page.

Our team at MCCF continues to navigate the enormous loss of our dear friend and colleague, Sue Patton.
Sue’s generous spirit and love for this community is reflected in the endowment funds the family has designated to donate to in her memory.

MONDAY FLOOD RELIEF & RECOVERY UPDATE
Our community continues to share resources and respond in incredible ways. As information continues to come from local organizations, agencies and community partners, we are working to gather and organize verified flood relief and recovery resources in one place.

The CASA Endowment Fund creates a lasting legacy of support for children in Madison County by ensuring every child involved in the court system has a dedicated advocate. Through the work of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), this fund helps give vulnerable children a voice, promotes their safety and well-being, and strengthens our community for generations to come.

FREE SPAGHETTI DINNER – A-Town Center
A-Town Center is offering free spaghetti dinners tonight, Sunday, August 16, beginning at 6:00 PM for anyone who needs a meal.
Meals are available for walk-up or delivery, with no limit on the number of free meals available.

Free Meals Beginning at 3 p.m.
A local flood-relief effort is distributing meals beginning at 3 p.m. today for anyone who needs one, including residents affected by flooding and first responders. Meals will be available while supplies last.
The Christian Center

Free hot lunch is served today from 12–1 p.m. No ID is required. Families and children are welcome. There is no Sunday dinner service.

REPORT DAMAGE / GET CONNECTED
Indiana 211
Flood-affected homeowners, renters and business owners should report damage through Indiana 211.
Dial 211 for assistance and resource connections.
Residents interested in helping with organized cleanup and recovery efforts are also encouraged to register through Indiana 211 rather than self-deploying into affected neighborhoods.

NEED A MEAL TONIGHT?
We are continuing to update our full Madison County Flood Relief Resource Page as information changes and new resources become available. We’ll be making a more comprehensive update for Sunday, but we wanted to get this time-sensitive information out separately for anyone who needs a meal tonight, Saturday, August 15.

No explanation needed. Just come eat.
The Toast Cafe

Hamburgers, fries or onion rings, and drinks are being provided at no charge for those displaced by the flooding.
The Christian Center

Dinner at 5:00 PM
The Christian Center serves a free community meal every day. Anyone who is hungry is welcome.
Anderson First Church

Assistance available until 6:00 PM today
Those impacted by the flooding are welcome to stop in for a meal and other assistance.
