To where you ask?

To vitality, not to the absence of disease!

The areas we prioritize in our life tend to be the areas which thrive. Preoccupying ourselves with ‘healing’ and curing diseases when they happen isn’t going to prevent them from ever arising.

By shifting the priority to ensuring optimum health instead of ‘preventing disease’, we cause that experience of ‘health’ to be elevated to a level we may not even recognize ourselves capable of feeling!

Our bodies are designed to feel GOOD - they are designed not to merely help us ‘get by’, but to actually serve as a vessel through which we can elevate our experience of the world around us.

Taking care of your body is a full-time job and shouldn’t just be done in the interim between illnesses. It’s a small price to pay, and you’ll find the healthier your attitude towards maintaining everyday health becomes, the lower the frequency of illness itself will be, too!

Making positive and healthy lifestyle choices is key to managing your arthritis. Having arthritis affects everyone differently. It’s important to address both the physical and emotional effects of arthritis.

Here are some self-management tips to consider:

Track your symptoms, pain levels, medications, and possible side effects to determine what works best for you.

Exercise. Even when it’s the last thing you want to do, exercise can strengthen muscles that support your painful joints, preserve and increase joint range of motion, improve sleep quality, boost your mood and sense of well-being, and help you lose excess pounds that add stress to painful joints.

Rest is important too. Don’t short change yourself on sleep and rest throughout the day as needed.

Fear of missing out, also known as FOMO, plays a big role in the link between social media and mental health for several reasons.

First, if your peers are using social media to connect, invite, and share, you’ll automatically feel as though you should use social media so as to not miss out on any of these connections, experiences, or information.

Secondly, when these experiences are missed, for example, when someone posts a picture from an activity that you weren’t invited to, feelings of exclusion, low self-esteem, and uncertainty about one’s place in their social group can follow.

Have you ever felt FOMO or exclusion from browsing through social media?

Yes. Depression can occur at a young age and will usually present itself as school refusal, anxiety when separated from parents, and worry about parents dying.

If you have a child who is showing symptoms of depression, talk to them about their feelings, and seek external support.

Are you dealing with negative or toxic people? Perhaps it’s a parent or family member who makes a habit of crossing boundaries. Maybe it’s a long-term friendship that you feel too deeply tied to and can’t let go of.

Instead of allowing others to drain you of your energy, working with a therapist can help you take steps to detach from them in a healthy and positive way.

Are you among the 74% of Americans who currently live with some kind of GI (gastrointestinal) discomfort?

Chances are that much of your discomfort stems from an underlying imbalance - not just the block of cheese you consumed last night!

While certain foods aggravate digestion in some people more than others, there is usually more going on down there. The absorption of nutrients from food which takes place in the gut is said to be disturbed if we experience any of the following:

-Bloating

-Gas

-Diarrhea/Constipation

-Painful/irregular stools

-Acid reflux

-A number of other related issues

Instead of popping a pill to pass through and temporarily remove your discomfort, how about getting to the bottom of WHY it’s happening in the first place? Identifying which foods to eliminate from your diet (and which to include in order to minimize these symptoms) is where functional health experts can help you!
