We recently started bringing some of these artifacts together—and each one has a story behind it.

Different eras. Different tools. Same pride in the work. 💪

We are proud to recognize Plumbing Journeyman Austen Stensrud for his outstanding 2nd Place finish at the 2026 United Association (UA) International Apprentice Contest, held August 5-10 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The competition brought together the top apprentice champions from the United States, Canada, and Australia, representing five core UA crafts: Plumbing, Pipefitting/Steamfitting, HVACR, Sprinkler Fitting, and Welding. Competitors were challenged through demanding hands-on projects, written examinations, and personal interviews that tested their technical skills, knowledge, and professionalism.

🎉 138 new apprentices. A record-breaking class. One incredible day. 🎉

Today we celebrated our 2026 Apprentice Signing Day, and we couldn't be more proud! This year's class is up 35% from last year, the biggest in Local 400 history. 💪
These future plumbers, steamfitters, HVAC/R techs, and pipe fabricators are starting careers where they earn while they learn, with no student debt. 🔧🔥
A huge thank you to the contractors who took time out of their workday to stand beside their apprentices, and to everyone who helped make today special. 🙌
