A 2025 survey found that nearly 40% of perimenopausal women received the wrong diagnosis. The most common one? Anxiety or depression.

65% said their concerns weren't fully addressed. 26% said their provider didn't take them seriously.

And for most, the next step was a prescription for an antidepressant medication.

These medications typically work by increasing available serotonin. But in perimenopause, the issue often isn't how your brain processes serotonin. It's that your body is producing less of it. Estrogen directly supports serotonin production. When estrogen starts to decline, serotonin output drops, and mood, sleep, focus, and emotional steadiness change with it.

An antidepressant can ease the symptoms. But it doesn't address why serotonin dropped in the first place.

A complete evaluation starts with mapping estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, and thyroid, because when one drops, the others move with it. From there, a targeted plan addresses the hormonal root, not just the emotional symptoms.

If you've been on an antidepressant and you still don't feel like it addressed everything, the missing piece may be hormonal.

✅ If your mood changed and no one's checked your hormones, a full evaluation can reveal what a standard screening missed. Schedule your consult and let's find out what's really behind the change.

You assumed it was the workouts catching up with you. Or just getting older. Maybe you started stretching more, bought new shoes, switched supplements.

But the pain didn't start randomly. It started around the same time other things changed. Your sleep got worse. Your mood felt heavier. Your cycle got unpredictable.

Estrogen plays a direct role in regulating inflammation and maintaining the fluid that cushions your joints. When estrogen declines, that cushioning decreases and inflammatory responses increase. The result is stiffness, aching, and soreness that shows up in your hands, knees, hips, and shoulders without any injury to explain it.

Most women never connect joint pain to hormonal changes because no one tells them to. It's treated as an orthopedic issue or written off as wear and tear.

✅ If joint pain appeared around the same time your sleep, mood, or cycle changed, a hormone evaluation may reveal the connection. Schedule your consult today.

The overdone look doesn't happen because someone asked for too much. It happens because treatments were added one at a time without a strategy for how they'd look together.

A little lip filler here. Some cheek volume there. Botox on a schedule. Each appointment makes sense on its own. But without a plan for how your whole face works as a unit, the cumulative effect starts to shift away from what you actually wanted.

Natural results come from decisions like:

→ Treating the jawline before the cheeks so volume doesn't stack upward
→ Leaving certain areas alone so your face keeps its natural definition
→ Choosing biostimulators over filler in areas that need structure, not volume
→ Spacing treatments so each one can settle before the next is placed

These are sequencing and strategy decisions, not just product choices.

We plan across your whole face before anything is injected. "Natural" is an outcome you design, not a preference you state.

✅ If you want results that look like you, just refreshed, it starts with a plan. Schedule your injectable strategy consultation.

Fall is when most people book their skin treatments. Lasers, peels, injectables. And those are all worth doing.

But if the foundation underneath isn't healthy, even the best surface treatments underperform.

Your skin quality is built from the inside:

→ Hormones: estrogen supports collagen production, hydration, and elasticity. When levels drop, skin thins faster than any topical can keep up with.
→ Blood sugar: chronic spikes damage collagen over time, making skin stiff, dull, and visibly older.
→ Sleep: growth hormone released during deep sleep drives skin repair. Poor sleep means less repair and faster visible aging.
→ Collagen production: your body's ability to build and maintain collagen depends on hormonal balance, nutrient status, and inflammation levels.

Most injectables and lasers only address what's already happened on the surface. That's why we built our fall protocol around NeoGen PSR — it doesn't just treat the surface, it uses nitrogen plasma energy to trigger your skin's own regeneration at the dermal level, rebuilding collagen and elastin from within for up to 24 months.

Paired with hormone, metabolic, and wellness evaluations, it's the closest thing to treating your skin the way it actually ages — from the inside out.

As we get ready to step into fall, the smartest investment might not be another quick fix. It might be a NeoGen treatment backed by the bloodwork that tells you what your skin has really been missing.

✅ Ready to treat your skin at the level that actually changes how it ages? Schedule your NeoGen consultation.

Dark spots and melasma are not the same condition. They look similar, but the treatments that clear one can make the other worse.

Sun spots and post-acne marks sit near the surface. They respond well to peels, lasers, and lightening agents. Once treated, they typically stay gone with proper sun protection.

Melasma runs deeper. It's driven by hormones, heat, and UV. The pigment cells are overactive and respond to internal triggers, which is why it fades in winter and flares in summer, or came back after pregnancy, birth control, or HRT.

In melasma-prone skin, inflammation triggers pigment cells to produce even more melanin. So aggressive treatments meant to lighten the skin can actually make it darker.

The approach that works is slower and more strategic:

→ Gentle topicals to suppress pigment production
→ Strict UV and heat protection
→ Treatments that calm inflammation rather than create it
→ Ongoing management, not a one-time fix

We assess what type of hyperpigmentation you're dealing with before recommending anything. The wrong approach doesn't just waste time. It sets you back.

✅ If your dark spots keep returning despite treatment, the type of pigmentation and the approach may need re-evaluating. Schedule your skin consultation.

Most resurfacing options sit at one of two extremes: gentle with minimal results, or aggressive with two weeks of downtime. NeoGen PSR sits in between.

It uses nitrogen plasma energy to reach the dermis — the layer where collagen production starts — without removing your skin's surface to get there. Deep enough to rebuild collagen and elastin, smooth texture, and improve tone. Not so aggressive that recovery takes over your calendar.

What it treats:
→ Sun damage and pigmentation
→ Uneven tone and texture
→ Fine lines and early skin laxity
→ Scarring
→ Skin laxity around the eyes and jawline

Downtime typically runs 3–10 days depending on treatment intensity, with no anesthesia required. And unlike many resurfacing lasers, it's suitable for all skin tones, including patients who've been told deep lasers aren't an option for them.

✅ If your skin looks dull, uneven, or textured and you've been weighing your resurfacing options, NeoGen PSR may be the fit you haven't found yet. Schedule your consultation.

The conversation about GLP-1 medications focuses almost entirely on the scale. What rarely comes up is what's happening above the neck.

When you lose weight rapidly, you lose fat everywhere, including the pads that give your face its structure. When those shrink:

→ Cheeks hollow out
→ Temples sink inward
→ Lines deepen around the mouth and jaw
→ Skin sags where it used to sit tight

You may love how your body looks and feel like your face aged five years. Friends say you look tired when you actually feel better than you have in years.

Two treatments address this differently:

→ Biostimulators (like Sculptra) rebuild collagen gradually, restoring structural support in the areas where volume loss is most visible
→ Hyaluronic acid filler restores contour more immediately in specific areas like cheeks or under-eyes, without an overfilled look

The goal is to support what weight loss revealed. We evaluate where volume has shifted and build a restoration plan that works with your progress, not against it.

✅ If your face has changed since starting GLP-1 therapy, a facial assessment can map where volume has shifted and what restoration looks like for you. Schedule your consultation.

📲 Save this if you're considering or currently on GLP-1 medication
