Sandy Slope Elementary School

✨ Fancy day at Sandy Slope! Keeping it classy, feeling fabulous, and making the best memories. 👸🏼🤴🏽

Pumpkin patches, spooky bats, festive trees, and cozy hearts—Sandy Slope was full of holiday cheer today! 🎃🎄🦇💖

Our students and staff showed off their incredible creativity for Holi-Day Dress Up Day, coming to school dressed as their favorite holidays from throughout the year. From Halloween monsters to Valentine's sweethearts, the hallways were bursting with color and spirit.

Tomorrow is Fancy Day! We can’t wait to see your fancy attire. ✨ Just a quick reminder: please don't send students in their absolute finest or irreplaceable outfits, as we still want to play hard and wouldn't want anything to get ruined during the school day! 👗👔

What a whirlwind of fun and learning at Sandy Slope! 🎒✨

From playground fun to school spirit, our students have been busy making memories over the last few days.

Here is a look at what we've been up to:
• Bug Hunting: Our students had a blast exploring the playground and catching some friendly backyard bugs! 🐛🔍
• Recess Fun: The energy was unmatched outside with some high-spirited sports, games, and great teamwork. ⚽✨
• Denim Day: We rocked our favorite blue jeans to show some love and celebrate Appleton North’s Homecoming week! 🏈💙
• Curriculum Showcase: We opened our classroom doors and invited our amazing community in to see our students and curriculum in action! 📚✏️

A massive thank you to all the families who took the time out of their busy schedules to visit us. We also want to give a special shout-out to our incredible instructional coach for helping our families learn all about our curriculum, and to our entire staff for hosting such wonderful classroom visits. We love our Sandy Slope community! ❤️

What an incredible Family Game Night! 🎉

Our school community had an absolute blast tonight! It was wonderful to see so many families coming together for an unforgettable evening of fun and laughter.

Here are a few of our favorite highlights:
• 🎱 BINGO excitement and big wins
• 🎨 Live drawings from the amazing illustrator
• 🦎 Cool, hands-on encounters with reptiles
• 🎲 Friendly competition at the board game tables
• 📚 Families walking away with new books after finishing off the night with a book walk

From the Library!
We are so excited to welcome children’s book illustrator, Anna Aronson, back to Sandy Slope THIS Thursday, September 24th! Mrs. Aronson visited all LMC classes last year, and students enjoyed meeting her and learning about the process of making a book. She will be sharing some of her books and her illustrating process at the family fun night next week! If families are interested, here are her available books. She will be happy to autograph any of her books that families bring to the event! There will also be a "book walk" of one of her stories to read through Thursday evening.
