President Donald Trump was defending the costs of the Iran war Monday when he suddenly offered an extraordinary example.

“They can take out a city,” Trump told supporters at a rally in Grand Island, Nebraska. “Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.”

“This is a very small price to pay,” he added.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the Department of Defense would completely cancel military attendance at Princeton, Columbia, MIT, Brown, Yale, and many other universities, effective the 2026-2027 academic year. The move followed a similar one three weeks earlier in which ties were cut with Harvard.

These schools have long supplied senior military officers with graduate-level strategic education alongside the military’s own war colleges, and Hegseth’s order demands that senior service colleges “sharpen our war fighters on genuine national security issues, not social justice activism.” President Trump’s administration has already cut billions in federal research funding to Ivy League schools over what it calls their embrace of “woke” ideology and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) policies.

Good news from Brazil! The communist movement that has used Brazil as its most important operational base in the Western Hemisphere just lost the first round of the fight it spent four years preparing to win.

With 100% of the ballots counted from Sunday’s presidential election, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro of the Liberal Party took 47% of valid votes. President Luiz Inácio “Lula” da Silva finished second with 45.16% or the votes.

Neither man cleared the 50 percent required to avoid a runoff. The second round will be held on October 25.
