🐟 KOI POND UPDATE: Roogie Has Appointed Himself Head of Security 🐟

Just a little update on the koi...

Everyone is doing well, but apparently Roogie has decided they require 24-hour protection. 😂
Several times a day, he makes his rounds to the pond, carefully inspecting the koi, checking the water, taking a drink or two to make sure the water is just right, and making sure nobody is causing trouble.

And bedtime? Absolutely NO ONE goes to bed until Roogie completes his official nighttime koi check. 🐾🔦🐟

Trixie thinks the whole thing is a little ridiculous.

🎀 Trixie: “You know you don’t even swim, right?”
🧢 Roogie: “That is completely irrelevant.”

So every night, Roogie stands guard at the edge of the pond, staring into the water like a furry little Secret Service agent.

The koi seem completely unaware that they have hired a Plott Hound as their personal security detail.

And Roogie?

He takes his job VERY seriously. ❤️🐾🐟
Nobody messes with Roogie’s fish. Nobody.

🐟🚨 ROOGIE’S OFFICIAL KOI RESCUE REPORT: PART 2 🚨🐟

As told by Roogie, Chief of Pond Security
Okay, everybody. Roogie here. 🐶
Yesterday I told Mom that the big pond needed new fish friends.

She ordered five beautiful koi.

Then the humans somehow LOST MY FISH.
Apparently there was something called an “address mix-up.”

I call it INCOMPETENCE. 🙄

After I supervised several frantic phone calls to FedEx and Toledo Koi, my fish were finally located at the FedEx delivery center.
Obviously, I sent Mom to get them.
I would have gone myself, but apparently FedEx does not recognize a Plott hound wearing a red baseball cap as an authorized recipient. Ridiculous.

🐟 THE HANDOFF WAS SUCCESSFUL.

Mom brought my five new fish friends home safely, and that's when the really important work began.

MY WORK.

I personally supervised the entire acclimation process.

👀 Checked the bags.
👀 Checked the water.
👀 Checked the fish.
👀 Checked Mom.
👀 Checked the fish again.

You really can't leave these things to chance.
Once everyone was properly acclimated, my five new friends were released into the big pond.
But did I go inside and relax?

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I stood guard over that pond and watched those fish like the highly trained aquatic security professional that I am. 🫡🐶🐟

And I'm pleased to report that when I reported for duty this morning...

ALL FIVE FISH WERE HAPPY, HEALTHY AND SWIMMING AROUND THEIR NEW HOME!
They're so happy with their new digs they're practically jumping for joy! 💦🎉

So let's review:
Five koi rescued. ✅
Five koi safely transported. ✅
Five koi acclimated. ✅
Five koi happily swimming in the big pond. ✅
One exhausted Plott hound who once again had to save the humans. ✅

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

🐟🚨 WE ALMOST HAD A TRAGEDY YESTERDAY! 🚨🐟

It all started because Roogie decided the big pond needed some new fish friends. Apparently, he is now in charge of pond stocking in addition to his regular duties at DePawsitory. 😂🐶
So, new koi were ordered from Toledo Koi, packed up, and sent on their way to Wisconsin.
And then... 😳

There was a mix-up with the delivery address.
Normally, a package going to the wrong place is annoying.

When the package contains LIVE FISH, it becomes a full-blown emergency! 🐟🚨
After multiple phone calls to FedEx and Toledo Koi, trying to figure out where Roogie’s new friends were and how we were going to get them safely home, we finally got the news we had been waiting for...

📦🐟 THEY HAD ARRIVED AT THE FEDEX DELIVERY CENTER!
At that point, this was no longer a delivery.
It was a KOI RESCUE MISSION. 😂

Stay tuned for the rest of the story because Roogie’s new fish friends still had to make it from the FedEx center to their new home in the big pond. 💦🐟❤️
And Roogie?

He would like everyone to know that this entire situation could have been avoided if they had simply put him in charge of shipping. 🤦‍♀️🐶
