Nonprofit Leadership Initiative

On Day 2 of Leadership Institute, the cohort focused on navigating fund development policies like gift acceptance and conflict of interest, spent some time working through the creation of a resource development plan, and broke down the steps of "making an ask" and building donor relationships.

This morning, our Leadership Institute leaders dove into day 1 of their development and fundraising module!

During our four hours together, we covered the donor cycle (remember: it's continuous, not transactional!), worked on their individual cases for support, and then practiced making 'the ask' in small groups.

Tomorrow the group will cover fundraising policies and then work through resource development plans. We look forward to putting more 'fun' in fundraising on Friday!

Thank to you our Leadership Institute alumni and current cohort members who joined us this morning for an Emotional Intelligence workshop with Carrie Rule.

During our time together, we dove into understanding the four different components of Emotional Intelligence and discovered activities we can implement in our day-to-day to drive self-awareness, regulation, motivation, and empathy.

We deeply appreciate the authentic conversation and laughter shared today. Our community is fortunate to have so many incredible people in our nonprofit sector!

It's a busy week for NPLI! We have:

- A Leadership Institute alumni event on Tuesday,
- The fall session of BoardBound kick off on Wednesday, and
- Leadership Institute's development module Thursday and Friday!

That's a whole lot of leadership education packed into four days, but we wouldn't have it any other way! We're looking forward to surrounding ourselves with so many incredible leaders who are doing important work in our community.

Last Thursday, our Leadership Institute leaders took what they learned from the board governance, financial leadership, and personal leadership modules and began to put them into practice by beginning to think strategically about what's next for their respective organizations.

Facilitated by the NPLI team, the day was all about turning what was learned into action and also giving folks the space to think strategically about the future.
