Swift Technique: Philadelphia's Favorite Funk-Rock Musical Collective est. 2007

12/22/2025

Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

We had an incredible session recording with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra today, including Julia Li, as part of our next Philly tribute: “Be Thankful for What You Got.”

What started as a simple love for classic Philadelphia songs has grown into something much bigger than we expected — a project that touches music, history, education, and community across the city.

This track’s journey began with producer Rick Friedrich’s early demos featuring vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Lloyd Johnson. From there, local musician and educator Jasyn Brazoban crafted a horn arrangement brought to life alongside Chris Oatts and Marcell Bellinger. Staying true to the TSOP tradition, lush strings were essential — and there was no better place to turn than the Philadelphia Orchestra.

With connections sparked by Aaron Levinson and a string score developed overseas by former Philly resident Gabe Miller, everything came full circle today back in Ardmore at Range Records, produced by Erik Scattareggia.

We’re beyond excited to share what this has become and will be posting more as the release comes together. 🙏🎶
