✨ Honey 🍯

This post is made in honor of one of the greatest horses that I have gotten to own. I made the difficult decision to help, Honey cross the rainbow road as her navicular had progressed and she was in constant discomfort. As a longtime horse owner, this is one of the greatest responsibilities that we take on to truly care for the animals we love. It’s never an easy choice no matter the circumstances, but even harder when it comes down to quality of life.
Honey was an incredible teacher, and helped many get to know horses and start their riding journey. She was a kind and gentle soul who loved having a job.
 May she get to run through pastures pain-free until we meet again.
Evee decided to throw a shoe during the weekend and since we have a show to prepare for, it’s a pole work day. Just because I can’t ride doesn’t mean that we can’t work on her top line and rhythm.
This is a simple set up with three poles, with the middle pole being raised off the ground.

Went to our show today and not only cleaned house but had some personal bests! Next show is regionals and we have some new things to work on. Evee did phenomenal and I couldn’t be more proud of her!

Just some raw photos of a day in my life. Got all 5 ponies worked before the rain came in. Taught some lessons and practiced for a show that I have this weekend. Happy Friday!
Thank goodness this isn’t how she acted under saddle! Guess I should’ve let her run before we rode ha 😆
A little turnout goes a long way for a young horse’s mind! Evee loves to express herself and get out the yeehaw’s before a ride.
I believe in letting a horse let loose before a ride so that they can focus when under saddle. This allows them time to play and get out their energy in a healthy manner where I don’t have to manage it. This saves me a lot of frustration when we get to work. How does your horse like to play? Do you let them loose before your ride?
