PeaceJam

For 30 years, PeaceJam youth have been turning the International Day of Peace into a day of action, connection, and celebration.

As we continue our 30th anniversary journey, we’re looking back at moments when PeaceJam youth have lifted their voices for peace around the world, from representing PeaceJam at the United Nations, World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, and other global assemblies, to leading local celebrations, marches, gatherings, and acts of peace in their own communities.

Every September 21, and throughout the year, young people remind us that peacebuilding doesn’t happen in one place or on one day. It happens wherever people come together to create positive change.

This International Day of Peace, we celebrate the thousands of young leaders who have made peace a practice, a purpose, and a movement for 30 years.

Peace Takes All of Us. 💙

Join us throughout this milestone year as we celebrate three decades of young people creating positive change and help shape the next 30 years of peace.

As we continue celebrating 30 years of PeaceJam, we’re looking back at the key moments, milestones, and people who have shaped this movement over the past three decades. One of those defining moments came in 2006, when PeaceJam marked its 10th anniversary with the Global Call to Action at the University of Denver.

From September 15–17, more than 3,000 PeaceJam youth from 40+ countries joined 10 Nobel Peace Laureates for the largest gathering of Nobel Peace Laureates in North America at the time.

Together, they identified 10 critical issues facing our world and set an ambitious goal: 1 Billion Acts of Peace. The vision was simple and powerful: everyday people, especially young people, could create meaningful change through action in their own communities.

Twenty years later, that call continues to shape the PeaceJam movement. As we celebrate 30 years of impact, we’re reminded that lasting peace is something we build together.

Peace Takes All of Us.
