InQuiring Minds Learning Center / SACC
Inquiring Minds Learning Center is not just a school and is certainly not a day care center. and blood born pathogens.
It offers all the best attributes of a preschool learning environment. InQuiring Minds hires teachers trained in the field of early childhood education in accordance with the State of New Jersey, Bureau of Licensing. Our teachers are group teacher certified and many of our instructional assistants are working towards their CDA credential or continuing education in college. Our center is licensed by the State of New Jersey, Bureau of Licensing Services, which monitors both the curriculum and safety features of the building. For the welfare of our children, all staff members have received First Aid training from the American Red Cross, including C.P.R. Our staff participates in a continuous program of in-service education and studies for professional advancement in order to remain alert to the ever-changing needs of today's families and to the findings of current research. Many staff are members of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and additional child care associations. Our center staff includes a program owner, Cindy Ciocco, that holds a master's degree in education administration and public policy with specialization in early childhood. She also received the principal certification from Rutger's University in May of 2005. The Center Director, Shannon Roehr, has received Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in May of 2019. Shannon has been working in early childhood education for over 11 years and prides herself on dedication and love of all children. Shannon is also our Curriculum Specialist and ensures all lesson plans are aligned to both the Core Curriculm Content Standards (CCCS) and the Early Childhood Expectations Standards of Quality. All staff receive continuing education credits for professional development that surpasses licensing requirements.

Sunday night with school aged kids:
π Backpack ready?
π Homework finished?
π Clothes picked out?
π Lunch planned?
β° Alarm set?
π Before and after school care handled?
We can't promise to find the missing homework folder that's somehow disappeared since Friday...
But we CAN help with that last one. π
Our SACC program provides before and after school care, transportation to participating schools, morning and afternoon snacks, homework help, and activities for children through age 12.
One less item on the weekly parent checklist sounds pretty good to us.

Toddlers aren't exactly known for sitting quietly in one place.
And we don't expect them to. π
Our Starbright Classroom is designed specifically for active late toddlers and early preschoolers.
Throughout the room, children can move between Creative Curriculum interest areas such as dramatic play, blocks, table toys, discovery, and sand and water. Their day balances child initiated exploration with teacher directed activities, while morning meetings introduce concepts like numbers and letter recognition.
The result is a classroom that works WITH the way young children naturally learn.
Move. Touch. Pretend. Explore. Ask. Discover.
Then do it all over again tomorrow.

Why does our School Aged Child Care Program have a Gaga pit, basketball court, playground, AND a large fenced field?
Because school aged children have already spent a big part of their day in school.
When they arrive at InQuiring Minds, they need opportunities to move their bodies, socialize with friends, play games, and have some FUN.
Our SACC program balances homework help and structured activities with the freedom to get outside and be active.
After school care shouldn't feel like another classroom.
We want our school aged children to be excited when the bus pulls into InQuiring Minds.

You'll hear the phrase "every child learns differently" a lot in education.
At InQuiring Minds, that belief actually influences how we teach.
Our educators observe children's interests, abilities, developmental stages, and individual needs. Those observations help them determine how to introduce concepts and create experiences that encourage each child to participate and grow.
A child fascinated by building may discover math through blocks. Another may develop language skills through dramatic play. Someone else may become curious about science while exploring sand and water.
Our job isn't to make every child learn the same way.
It's to discover what sparks their curiosity and build from there.
That's been part of the InQuiring Minds philosophy for more than 35 years.

After spending all day in a classroom, sometimes kids just need room to MOVE.
That's why outdoor activity is an important part of our School Aged Child Care Program.
Our main campus gives our school aged children access to a playground, a basketball court designed specifically for them, a GAGA pit, and a large fenced field where there's plenty of room for sports, games, and active play.
There's also time for homework help and structured activities, but we believe balance matters.
Children need opportunities to learn.
They need opportunities to socialize.
And sometimes, they need to put down the backpack and RUN. π
That's all part of an afternoon at InQuiring Minds.
First steps are a BIG deal. β€οΈ
That's one reason our Comfy Clouds Classroom is specifically designed with our older infants in mind.
As babies begin crawling, pulling themselves up, and learning to walk, they need an environment that gives them opportunities to safely practice those new skills.
But physical development is only part of what's happening.
Our teachers get down on the floor to interact and play with the children, encourage early socialization and parallel play, read stories, sing songs, continue introducing sign language, and begin exploring concepts such as shapes and colors during circle time.
They're still babies, but they're already absorbing so much from the people and environment around them.
At InQuiring Minds, our classrooms grow with our children because their needs change as they do.

π Your child's school lets out.
You're still at work.
And suddenly you're doing the daily mental math of who can handle pickup, where your child needs to go, and whether you'll make it there on time.
For InQuiring Minds families, there's another option.
Our SACC program provides school bus transportation from Atco Elementary, T.R. Richards, Waterford Elementary School (WES), and Berlin Community School back to our main campus for after school care.
Once they're here, the afternoon isn't spent simply waiting for pickup. There's homework help, snacks, activities, outdoor play, and plenty of room to spend time with friends.
You finish your workday.
We'll help take care of what happens after theirs.
