What am I doing this warm Friday night? Just sittin’ around being a h***y listening to h***y music. 😃 but seriously folks, Chet Atkins had his own way of playing. Very distinctive. My uncle Winston, who also plays guitar, is a big fan. He’s one of the reasons I picked up guitar. I found this Chet Atkins record in a store in Covington recently. I believe it was released in 1960. Spanish style playing. I’m into that sound. Latin music is beautiful. The rhythms and chord progressions are obviously different than western pop music. It’s poetic and folky. This album by Chet Atkins reminds me of an old romantic western set in the southwest, somewhere hot and dusty.
