NVIDIA Is Buying Hugging Face. What Does That Mean for Marketing? 09/03/2026

🚨 BREAKING: NVIDIA is buying Hugging Face for $12.93 billion.

Marketing leaders, this is one of those AI stories that looks highly technical right up until it lands directly in your budget, technology stack and governance policy.

NVIDIA already supplies much of the machinery powering AI. Now it is buying one of the largest marketplaces for the models, datasets and applications built on top of that machinery.

In other words, the company selling the ovens is buying the cookbook library.

This could accelerate the shift toward a multimodel AI environment, where companies use different specialized models for different parts of a marketing workflow.

That creates enormous potential.

But more models also mean more questions:
-Who built the model?
-What data shaped it?
-What does it cost to run?
-Can your vendor replace it without telling you?
-And who is responsible when it confidently goes completely off the rails?

Because apparently the 47 platforms already in the marketing technology stack were not providing enough mystery.

In my latest blog, I explain why this deal could affect model choice, personalization, costs, vendor dependence and governance, and why model strategy is quickly becoming part of marketing strategy.

NVIDIA Is Buying Hugging Face. What Does That Mean for Marketing? Marketing teams are entering a multimodel AI world—with more flexibility, greater specialization and considerably more ways to get governance wrong.

ChatGPT Ads Just Hit $1 Billion. The Bigger Story Is What Happens to the Marketing Funnel. 09/01/2026

ChatGPT Ads just hit a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate.

That’s a big number.

But I think marketers are focusing on the wrong part of the story.

The real story is this: The conversation is becoming the funnel.

Consumers are already using AI to discover brands, compare options, narrow choices and make decisions.

Now advertising is entering that same environment.

Think about what that means.

For decades, digital marketing followed a fairly predictable path:

Search → results → click → website → conversion.

AI is compressing that journey.

Someone can ask ChatGPT for recommendations, compare three companies, eliminate two, refine their requirements and get much closer to a decision, all without ever visiting a traditional search results page.

Now paid advertising and organic AI visibility are beginning to exist inside the same conversational ecosystem.

That creates some very interesting questions for marketers:

-Where does your brand appear organically?
-Where does it disappear as the conversation progresses?
-When should paid AI visibility complement GEO?
-And who inside the organization actually owns this new intersection of AI visibility, paid media, brand and governance?

This isn't just another advertising channel.

It's another sign that the marketing operating model itself is changing.

I unpacked what the $1 billion ChatGPT Ads milestone really means for marketers — and why I believe **discovery, recommendation, evaluation and advertising are beginning to collapse into the same conversation.**

ChatGPT Ads Just Hit $1 Billion. The Bigger Story Is What Happens to the Marketing Funnel. Advertising is moving inside AI conversations. That changes how brands are discovered, evaluated and chosen—and why marketers need to think about paid AI and GEO together.

Buying AI Technology Is Easy. Changing How People Work Is Harder. 08/25/2026

Give 50 employees access to AI and you may end up with 50 different ways of doing the exact same job.

One person has developed a sophisticated prompt sequence.
Another types three words into a blank chat box.
One knows exactly what context to provide.
Another assumes the AI already knows it.
One carefully checks the output.
Another copies and pastes it.

That isn’t an AI operating model.
It’s 50 individual experiments.

And I think this is one of the biggest challenges organizations need to solve in the next phase of AI adoption.

We spent the first few years figuring out the technology: ChatGPT or Claude? Copilot or Gemini? Enterprise licenses? Policies? Prompt training? Agents?

Those questions mattered.

But the question I’m hearing more often now is much more interesting: How should we actually do this work now that AI exists?

Because adding AI to individual tasks can make people faster. But it doesn’t necessarily transform the way an organization works.

The bigger opportunity is moving from:
Prompt → Process → Workflow → System

That means capturing what your best AI users have already figured out, turning individual knowledge into organizational capability, deciding where AI should assist versus act, and redesigning workflows before you automate them.

I wrote about why I believe this is where the next phase of enterprise AI transformation is headed, and why the competitive advantage won’t simply come from having access to the best AI.

It will come from how you redesign the work around it.

Buying AI Technology Is Easy. Changing How People Work Is Harder. Giving employees access to AI doesn't transform an organization. The real opportunity begins when companies redesign how the work gets done.

Who Has Custody of Your Data When AI Enters the Workflow? 08/24/2026

Your employees may be following your AI policy perfectly.
And you could still have an AI data problem.

Every time someone asks AI to summarize an internal report, analyze a spreadsheet, review a client document or improve a draft, organizational information is moving into an AI system.

So here's the question: Who has custody of that information, and what happens to it next?

That's a much bigger question than "Don't put sensitive information into AI."

As AI becomes embedded into everyday work, employees need to know:

- What information can I use?
- Which AI tools can I use it with?
- What do I need to do before sharing it?
- What happens to the AI-assisted work afterward?
- And what happens when our information leaves the organization entirely?

That last one is particularly important.

Katherine L. Morales, APR, our VP of Human + AI Operations & Governance at Human Driven AI, tackles what she calls the emerging AI data custody problem in her latest article.

And one of her most important points is this: Governance has to follow the work.

An AI policy sitting on a shared drive isn't enough. Organizations need governance employees can actually apply as information moves through people, AI tools, documents and outside partners.

If you're responsible for AI adoption, governance, communications, marketing, legal, procurement, or the data your organization entrusts to outside partners — this one is worth your time.

Who Has Custody of Your Data When AI Enters the Workflow? AI governance can't stop with a policy. As information moves across employees, AI tools, documents and external partners, governance has to move with it.

Your Brand Has Plenty of Content. So Why Does AI Keep Losing You? 08/17/2026

Your company probably doesn’t need more content for its GEO strategy.

It may need better-connected content.

Most organizations have spent years building content ecosystems around pages, campaigns and keywords.

But that’s not how people use AI.

They ask a question. Then another. They compare. Challenge. Add constraints. Ask for evidence. Narrow their options. Move toward a decision.

And somewhere along that journey, your brand may disappear.

We call these conversation gaps; the places where your existing content no longer provides enough depth, evidence or authority for AI to keep your organization relevant.

That changes the GEO question from: “How do we get AI to mention us?”

to: “What does the world need to know about us for our organization to genuinely belong in this conversation?”

My latest article explores how to identify those gaps, and why GEO, content strategy and PR are increasingly becoming part of the same discipline.

👉 Why Most GEO Strategies Fail: Your Content Isn’t Built for the Conversation

https://humandrivenai.com/2026/08/17/why-geo-strategies-fail-content-conversation-gaps/

Your Brand Has Plenty of Content. So Why Does AI Keep Losing You? The problem may not be how much content you're creating. It may be where your brand disappears from the conversation.

Your AI Policy Is Probably Already Outdated 08/13/2026

Your AI policy may already be outdated.
Not because you wrote a bad policy.
Because AI changed.

Agents are moving from generating content to taking action. Employees have access to tools you didn't purchase or approve. Vendors and agencies are making their own AI choices. Disclosure requirements are evolving. And regulation is changing across states and countries.

A policy written six or even twelve months ago may not address the AI environment your people are working in today.

That’s why we believe we need to stop thinking about AI governance as a document.

It has to become a living practice.

In our latest article by our VP, Human + AI Operations and Governance, Katherine L. Morales, APR, we look at what that means, including:

→ Why governance has to extend beyond approved tools
→ What changes when AI agents can actually take action
→ Why disclosure is becoming a trust issue, not just a compliance issue
→ Who should own AI governance (hint: not one department working alone)
→ How we use HDAI’s 4 Ds of Shared AI Practice™ to bring governance into everyday work

The organizations that get this right won't be the ones that successfully predict every new AI development.

They'll be the ones that build a structure capable of adapting when the next one arrives.

Your AI Policy Is Probably Already Outdated AI is no longer just generating content. It is accessing systems, making choices and taking action. Governance has to evolve just as quickly.

It's finally here.

Three years ago, we set out to study AI adoption.

We thought we'd discover which tools people preferred and how quickly organizations were embracing AI.

Instead, we uncovered something none of us expected.

Employees adapted. Organizations didn't.

That realization changed the direction of our research—and ultimately became the foundation of our new executive report.

After three years of working alongside organizations, interviewing hundreds of leaders, surveying thousands of professionals, and watching AI transform the workplace in real time, we believe we've uncovered one of the biggest reasons so many organizations aren't seeing the ROI they expected from their AI initiatives.

They're still trying to solve yesterday's problem.

The AI adoption problem is largely behind us. The organizational adaptation challenge is just beginning.

I'm incredibly proud of this work and grateful to every client, colleague, friend, and team member who challenged our thinking along the way.

If you're curious about where AI is really headed inside organizations, I'd love for you to read it.

Three years ago, we set out to answer one question: How are organizations adopting AI?

Three years later, we realized that wasn't the story.
The technology kept improving.
The employees kept adapting.
But something else wasn't keeping pace.

That's what the 2026 AI Adoption Gap Report is really about.

It isn't another report ranking AI tools.
It isn't another list of AI predictions.

It's the story of how the questions themselves evolved, and why that matters for every leader trying to prepare their organization for what's next.

Launching Monday.

07/22/2026

⏳ 4 days until the release of the 2026 AI Adoption Gap Report.

When we started this research three years ago, we thought we were studying AI adoption.

What we ended up documenting was something much bigger.

We watched the questions organizations were asking evolve in real time. That progression tells the story of enterprise AI better than any single statistic ever could.

Because the biggest transformation wasn't the technology.

It's the way organizations, and the people inside them, began thinking about work itself.

On Monday, we'll release the inaugural 2026 AI Adoption Gap Report, based on three years of research with thousands of professionals, hundreds of executives, and organizations navigating this shift from the inside.

I can't wait to share what we learned.

4 days.

07/21/2026

For three years now, we've been leading AI training and consulting for enterprise organizations and marketing communications agencies. 🤖

Along the way, we've surveyed thousands of professionals, interviewed hundreds of executives, facilitated focus groups with department leaders, and worked alongside teams implementing AI in the real world.

When we started this research, we thought we were studying AI adoption.

We were wrong.

What we discovered challenged one of the biggest assumptions organizations have been making about AI; and it may explain why so many companies still aren't seeing the results they expected.

I believe communications leaders have been asking the wrong question.

On Monday, we're releasing the 2026 AI Adoption Gap Report, sharing what we learned after three years of research, including the finding that completely changed how we think about enterprise AI.

I have a feeling it's going to change how a lot of organizations think about it, too. Stay tuned! :)
