Maybe growing up is realizing that not every version of you needs to be rescued. Sometimes, we spend years looking for someone who will understand us completely, make things easier, or finally make us feel whole.But slowly, we learn that we can become that safe place for ourselves too. We can hold our own hand through the uncertainty. We can comfort ourselves when things hurt.
We can choose ourselves even when nobody else does. And maybe that’s what the journey was really about-
not finding someone to save us,
