Atlanta Humane Society

Six months of Operation Humane. ❤️

Over the past six months, our teams have responded to large scale rescues across Georgia, working alongside shelters, law enforcement, and community partners to help animals when they need us most.

Take a look back at some of the rescues that have shaped our first six months.

And we’re just getting started. Visit operationhumane.org to learn more about Operation Humane and the work happening across Georgia.

Dozer is ready for postseason baseball! ⚾️❤️

Wishing the Atlanta Braves good luck as they kick off the Wild Card Series today! Dozer will be cheering them on from Atlanta Humane.

Our 9 to 5 looks a little bit different.🐶

Our staff works hard every day to make sure the animals in our care are living their best lives. But as you can imagine, the job also comes with plenty of behind the scenes moments like these that make working here so special. ❤️

Want your workday to look a little more like this? Visit atlantahumane.org/careers to view our open positions!

These are just a few of the adoptable animals you could meet this weekend, but there’s a catch. A select group of our adoptable animals have secretly been chosen as Traitors, and their identities won’t be revealed until they’re adopted. Adopt a Traitor and you’ll receive a special prize basket along with your new family member!

This Friday through Sunday, September 25 through 27, adoption fees are $0 for all adoptable animals, sponsored by VCA Animal Hospitals.

Come meet the suspects, find your new family member, and see if you uncover a Traitor. Visit atlantahumane.org/events to learn more!❤️

Sometimes helping an animal means going a little further than expected. ❤️

When a cat needed help getting out of our sewer, our team didn’t hesitate. One of our staff members climbed right in to make sure they could get the cat to safety.

It’s just one example of the care, compassion, and determination our team brings to animals every single day. And yes, sometimes that means literally crawling into a sewer.

Six months ago, we introduced Operation Humane. But the story behind it started long before then. Built on years of experience protecting animals and supporting communities across Georgia, Operation Humane gave this part of our mission more room to grow.

Today, our teams continue working side by side, and we’re celebrating everything Operation Humane has accomplished in its first six months.

Visit our homepage at atlantahumane.org to learn more about why we created Operation Humane, what the team has already made possible, and where they’re headed next.

Tonight is the season premiere of The Traitors US, which means everyone is about to start accusing each other of lying on national television again. 👀

Naturally, we wanted in. So we’ve secretly selected a few of our adoptable animals to be Traitors for a special adoption promotion coming up NEXT weekend, September 25-27. But here’s where the game comes in: You won’t know which animals are the Traitors until they’re adopted.

Uncover one? You’ll head home with your new family member, bragging rights, AND a special prize basket for successfully finding a Traitor.

We know their identities. You’ll have to wait to find out. Until then…trust no one.😈
