With my current goals to post at least 3 videos per week (when you’re not a video editor or producer for that matter lol) it gets hard to implement all of the cool things I see or have dreamed up but little things like this make it so much easier for me to not only stand out but get the videos out!

Notion has given me the push and the perfect preliminary step to make sure I’m organized across the board so that I have control of alllllll the moving parts of my life. Organization is our best friend!
Also, I was thinking the other day about the idea that content creation is a saturated market🤔 how many of us outside of major cities personally even know someone that’s a successful content creator? If you’re online all day, sure it’s saturated but if you look around in your daily life, you’ll realize there’s room for you. So download Notion to stay organized in your journey!! For the past year or so my mom has been telling me to expand my art to include more racially ambiguous pieces and I’ve had the hardest time wrapping my mind around that!
On one hand my audience is Black women (like me), that is the audience I live and breathe. But on the other hand, each piece is one specific skin tone, so while I have pieces that touch ALL of our skin tones, not all of us can identify with every one. The experiences are different across the board. So maybe mom was right.
Although I have a large audience it is NERVE WRECKING to try anything new or different because I just want you all to love it. But ultimately it only has to make sense to me, so I’ve finally pulled the trigger (before I go to bed because I’m nervous🙃) on a new way to think of my art. A way that can include as many of us as humanly possible in every piece.
Sooo what do you think? I’m so proud of it as it has taken me weeeekkkksss to come up with something that felt good to me.
Does anyone remember Adobe Draw? It was a free drawing app. That’s where I started because it was free😂. I didn’t want to buy anything because I didn’t know if I was really going to ever use it. When they phased it out I waited until the very last minute to download Fresco (I was not prepared for change lol) and I had to give myself a crash course right before a brand deal which included an in person recording of me drawing😂 And now I’m ready to get on my soapbox about why Adobe Fresco is the premium drawing app (and happily paying for that and the entire creative suite actually🤭)

Fun fact about me is that I never planned on being an entrepreneur. It was never a dream or desire of mine until it fell in my lap and suddenly it was all I ever wanted in life lol💁🏽♀️
But the highs have been VERY high to match the VERY low lows. Working a 9-5 is hands down 100% easier than pursuing entrepreneurship but nowhere near as rewarding or fulfilling as running your own thing (even when things aren’t perfect). Your very own baby. There’s just a different level of buy in that keeps you going!!
I could go on and on but I would need a documentary to tell you all of the tea😂
