Levels2skin is an eco-friendly, natural skin care line conceived by board certified dermatologists, Drs. Tunisia Cornelius & Kenyatta Mireku.
You keep seeing “peptides” on labels. Here’s the plain-English version. 🧪
Peptides are short chains of amino acids — the same building blocks your skin already uses. “Signaling” peptides are the ones formulated to communicate with skin.
What that means for you, honestly: peptides are one of the most studied ingredient families in skincare for the look of firmness and the appearance of fine lines. They’re also famously easy to tolerate. No purge. No peeling. No two-week adjustment period where you hide from people.
That last part is why we love them for melanated and reactive skin. You get to work on the look of texture and firmness without the irritation that can leave a dark mark behind.
Three peptides is good. Five is better. Remember that. 👀

Summer’s technically almost over. Georgia did not get the memo. ☀️
It’s September and we’re still walking out the door into full sun, still sweating through the parking lot, still squinting on the way to the car. The season changes on a calendar. The UV doesn’t.
That’s the part people miss. September sun in the South is not “fall sun.” Your skin can’t tell what month it is — it just knows what’s hitting it. And UV is what shows up later as uneven-looking tone and dark marks that take a lot longer to fade than they took to arrive.
So yes. Still applying. Every morning, all year. 🤎
Luminous Defense SPF 50. Broad spectrum. Water-resistant for 40 minutes. No white cast — on any shade.
Repost of Moein Villanueva — thank you for showing what it actually looks like on. 💛
Sunscreen isn’t a summer product. It’s a Tuesday product.

Your skin didn’t betray you. It changed. 🧬
Here’s what’s actually happening under the surface after 40 👇🏾
Collagen and elastin — the proteins that give skin its bounce and structure — naturally decline as we age. Cell turnover slows down. Skin holds onto less water than it used to. None of that is a personal failure. It’s biology.
What that looks like in the mirror: fine lines that stick around longer, a little less snap when you smile, skin that reads dull by 3pm no matter what you did at 7am.
What actually helps: consistency over intensity. A gentle daily cleanse. Ingredients that support the look of firmness. And SPF every single day, because UV accelerates all of it.
Save this for the next time someone tells you it’s “just aging.” Understanding what’s changing is how you choose what to use. 💛

Flawless makeup starts before the makeup. 💄
Celena Spencer said it better than we could — you cannot have flawless makeup without skin prep.
Her three steps: cleanse, moisturize, then makeup. That’s the whole prep routine. No 12-step anything.
Radiance Refresh Cleanser to start clean and fragrance-free. Matte Brilliance because sometimes you don’t want a dewy face — you want skin that’s moisturized and a finish that stays matte under everything you put on top of it.
And Luminous Defense SPF 50, which she white-cast tested on camera. Because we know that’s the first question every brown skin girl asks. 🤎 Water-resistant for 40 minutes, so you know exactly when to reapply.
Thank you for this one. 💛
Cleanse. Treat. Protect. Three steps, five minutes — same system, whether or not makeup is going over it.

Reasons to follow or unfollow two board-certified dermatologists. 👀
We’d rather you know what you’re signing up for.
Follow us if you want the honest answer even when the honest answer is “you don’t need that.” If you’re in your 40s and nobody has explained why your skin suddenly changed. If you’re tired of melanated skin being the afterthought at the bottom of the ingredient list.
Unfollow us if you want a 3-day miracle, because we’re going to say “give it 12 weeks” every single time. Or if you’re attached to a viral hack, because we will absolutely have opinions about it. 🙃
Either way — no hard feelings. We’re not for everybody, and that’s kind of the point.
Which one made you hit follow? Or unfollow? 👇🏾

👀 One question, two dermatologists, two honest confessions — “what did you get wrong about your own skin?”
Dr. Kenyatta: skipping moisturizer. Her oily skin was actually overproducing oil because she wasn’t hydrating it — a lightweight moisturizer calmed it down.
Dr. Tunisia: not realizing her skin was sensitive. Over-exfoliating left her barrier inflamed — so she traded acids for bakuchiol + peptides that smooth and brighten without stripping a layer.
Two derms, same lesson: less is more. The fix they both reach for → our Bakuchiol + Peptide Matte Brilliance Moisturizer. 💛

🩺 “I have melanin, I tan, I don’t burn — so I need less sunscreen in summer.” Let’s talk about that. ✋🏾
This is the myth I hear most as a dermatologist, and UV Safety Month is the time to clear it up.
Yes — melanin offers some natural protection. But it’s roughly the equivalent of SPF 13, and it does NOT shield you from:
🌑 Hyperpigmentation and uneven tone (UV is the #1 trigger)
🔥 Melasma that deepens all summer
📋 Skin cancers that get caught later in our community — and have worse outcomes
Summer UV is stronger, the days are longer, and reflection off water and pavement adds up fast. “I don’t burn” is not the same as “I’m protected.”
Daily mineral SPF isn’t about fear. It’s the single best anti-aging, even-tone step you can take — and it’s the easiest one to keep simple.
