October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to honor and remember babies who were deeply loved and the families forever changed by loss.

After a long day, we made our way down to Melanated Campout. It was dark, but the sheer excitement of the event had us ready to set up our tents in the pitch dark and wind, with only our headlamps and lanterns to light the way. We finished, slept, and woke up the next morning ready to volunteer!
Release the fear.

Choose “YES, I did it!” over “I wish I had.”
And 71 Ch8sers did exactly that!
had the honor of leading 71 incredible people on a coed Ch8se during the Melanated Campout- Come Camp, Party, Relax with us! 2026. Together, we stepped beyond comfort zones, embraced the outdoors, and created another powerful “YES, I did it!” moment.
Because sometimes healing begins with simply saying YES to the Ch8se.

We harvested wisteria vines, smashed the hard outer layer and peeled off the bark to get to the soft inner fibers. While the fibers were still wet, we used a two strand twist method to create cordage.
This was one of the many FREE events provided by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
