2025 was a remarkable year of success and growth for CIDI! Not only did we hire new members of our team, including Bill Curtis-Davidson our new Executive Director, but under his guidance and with the continued dedication of all our departments, we continued to carry out our mission to improve the human condition.

By the end of 2025 we’ve seen:
• Our Braille team’s tireless work transcribing and embossing over 2,000,000 braille pages
• Our Captioning and Described Media team’s work providing captioning and audio descriptions for over 1,600 minutes of content
• Our Tool’s for Life team's work increasing assistive technology device loans by 61%, reaching 715 total loans
• And so much more!

This list barely scratches the surface, and we’re only going to continue our efforts from here! Check out our impact report to see all that we accomplished in 2025:

The CIDI team visited the Texas Correction Industries Billman Braille Center in Gatesville, TX, the largest prison braille program in the country.

Hearing from the women in the program about the pride and purpose they find in creating accessible materials was a powerful reminder of the impact behind this work. We’re grateful for this long-standing partnership and their dedication to expanding access through braille.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day is observed each year on the third Thursday of May, highlighting the importance of digital access for the more than one billion people worldwide living with disabilities. We’re reminded that access to digital experiences matters. Let’s keep building, designing, and sharing with accessibility in mind!
