Pace Academy

🌎 With a love for Pace Academy spanning more than 60 years, Pace Trustee Craig Owens '72 and his wife, Libby, created the Owens Faculty Enrichment Fund to support teachers in pursuing professional development, personal enrichment and continuing education. 🌎 This summer, Owens Grant recipient and jet-setting Middle School history teacher Kirstin Baillie traversed two continents, five countries and nine cities studying the methods and approaches of different nations in retelling and remembering the Holocaust. In Washington, D.C., Mrs. Baillie visited the National Museum of American Jewish Military History, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Capital Jewish Museum, studying history, hope and resilience. In Europe, she spent time in museums, memorials and concentration camps from London to Paris to Germany to Poland, gaining perspective on diverse educational experiences. The Campus Store, located in the Boyd Gym Lobby, is now open for the 2026-2027 school year! Grab your Pace gear weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Aug. 14. Regular school-year hours begin Tuesday, Aug. 18 (open Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed Mondays). Happy shopping, Knights!

This summer, rising sixth graders and seventh and eighth graders new to Pace prepared for a new division and new adventures at Kickstart Camp. The program helps students build confidence and get ready for our Middle School. Change is easy when you have fellow Knights by your side! 💙⚔️

Our newest Knights had their first look at the wonder and excitement of Pace at Castle Camp! Through STEM challenges, collaborative activities and creative expression, incoming Pre-Firsters built friendships and readied themselves for their first year on campus. ⚔️💙

This summer, 160 students and 27 faculty members from across all three divisions set off on eight separate Isdell Center for Global Leadership (ICGL) study tours. From exploring the ecosystems of Costa Rica and the Galapagos Islands to diving into the cultures and landscapes of Australia, Japan and Iceland, Knights of all ages embarked on unforgettable global journeys. In keeping with Pace tradition, awards season celebrated both students and the educators at the heart of our community. One teacher in each division is recognized with the Excellence in Teaching Award, our highest faculty honor. 🏆 Congratuluations to fourth-grade teacher Marisa Zhuño, Middle School Latin teacher Kim Peterson and Upper School science teacher Jillian Breen. 👏👏👏 They're the best of the best!
