"GEORGIA'S ON MY MIND"
I wasn't excited about greens as a child until I had children and they got sick. The Potlikka from these greens cured them almost overnight, almost like good healing chicken soup. Now, I am advocating for the ultimate distinction of being the OFFICIAL Greens of Georgia.
These medicinal veggies will help Georgia farmers all over the state. But it was not until I found out there is a national organization celebrating what mothers before me have known for centuries. I'm elated that The Original Collard Greens Cultural Festival Inc. is right here in Georgia, and I have been their Ride or die.
I'm tendering up a collard Pound Cake this year's festival. We'll see how that goes over with their Collard Green ice cream.
This year, the festival has outgrown my lil city of Stonecrest and is moving to a much bigger venue 🥲.
I'll be crowning the 2027/28 Collard Green King or Queen this year and passing them a big green check! Y'all should come.
