I ended August and began September with closings involving first-time homebuyers. The wife in the picture on the left is a teacher and the husband in the picture on the right is a teacher. Each of the couples benefited from the Teacher Next Door Program which provides home-buyung grants to anyone who works in an educational setting regardless of their role. What differentiates the Teacher Next Door program from similar programs is that these grants NEVER have to be repaid. The program also offers downpayment assistance.

Homeowners. . .let's talk about the importance of curb appeal. When I pull up to a home that looks like this, I'm always concerned about what it will look like inside because the outside looks so bad. You only have one chance to make a good impression with prospective buyers and when your home's exterior looks like this, you've already lost a certain segment of them.

So, before you place your home on the market, maximize curb appeal by trimming shrubs, clearing weeds and vines, and removing debris and dead leaves. Consider adding some colorful flowers in the flowerbeds and in pots around the front porch. And, by all means, have the gutters cleaned and any pine needles blown from the roof.

Congrats to my lovely client! I-285 on the west side will be fully closed in both directions between MLK Jr. Drive and Cascade Road from 7 p.m. on Friday, May 8, through 5 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, for emergency construction.
