Trey Best

Still taking it all in!

Putting together “The Sound of Jam & Lewis” was one of the most rewarding creative experiences I’ve had! I’m so grateful for this entire process.

First off, thank you to Jimmy and Terry for being a part of the soundtrack of our lives. Thank you for the lessons on innovation, musicianship, and collaboration. It was an honor getting to celebrate your legacy!

Thank you to Monyea and St. James for inviting me out and giving me the chance and space to put on this show!

Thank you to the INCREDIBLE band for bringing their best to this show! Thank you for trusting my vision, bringing so much life to the music, and making every part of the show feel even bigger than I imagined.

Thank you Casso for documenting this process and tying it together so beautifully.

Thank you to all of my family and friends who came from near and far to see this show! You don’t even understand how much it means that you came out to see me. I’ll never take that for granted.

To every person who came on the strength of St. James, thank you for coming to experience my show. I hope it won’t be the last!

And a very special thank you to my mom for coming in town and immediately jumping into the madness with me and helping me pull together all of the last minute details.

I walked away from this night even more certain about the kind of artist I want to be.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. So excited for what’s to come 🙏🏾

✨

There was a lil oil in the brass section this morning idk 😅

Devin Gibson said the people were missing a sharp lil boom kack moment…

How’s this? 👀

Listen, nobody tells you being the artist also means being the director, choreographer, stage manager, lighting tech, costumer, caterer, AND props master 🙃 welcome to arts & crafts hahaha.

Time moves so fast. 🥹 Can’t believe this was almost 20 years ago.

Always just trying to make this kid proud.

Tomorrow, we headline our first show. ❤️
