Honored to receive the 2026 Distinguished Member Award from The Georgia Society of CPAs. During the past legislative session, I was the House sponsor of the IRS conformity bill that helped implement many of the tax cuts from the One Big Beautiful Bill, including eliminating the tax on tips and overtime. As a fellow CPA, I always look forward to hosting the annual CPA Day at the Capitol, and I will continue to advocate for the best interests of Georgia's CPAs.

It's Saturday, and we're in a Special Session. Today, the Georgia House voted on multiple local bills that would place county referendums on this November's ballot, allowing voters to decide whether they want a sales tax to directly offset their homestead property taxes.
