My honest thoughts on J. Cole’s The Fall Off: 70/100

I’m not gonna lie… this album feels mid to me.

Cole is still rapping at a high level — the lyricism, introspection, and message are all there. You can tell he’s in that “legacy” mode, trying to close a chapter and reflect on everything he’s built.

But musically… it didn’t hit the way I expected.

A lot of the production feels safe, some tracks blend together, and for how much hype this project had, I wanted more moments that really stuck. It’s not a bad album at all — it’s solid — but it doesn’t feel like a classic or a game-changer either.

More like: good rap, not unforgettable.

Overall I’d give it a 70/100. Respectable… just not something I’m running back nonstop.
