The trial of Tyler Butler got underway this week in Spotsylvania County. He’s accused of opening fire on three teens who say they were banging on doors overnight.
Michael Bosworth Jr. was k**led just a week before he was set to graduate from high school.
Butler can be seen on his own doorbell camera, firing 10 shots at the teens who were just in his backyard. Two teens were shot in the back, Bosworth didn’t make it.
This week at trial, one of the teens testified they were two houses away when Bosworth opened fire.
He was charged with murder, attempted murder and other felonies.
His defense said he and his mother were scared someone was trying to break into their house.

After 31 years in education, one choice cost an Ohio principal his job – it's a decision he says he does not regret.
As principal of Lakota East High School in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rob Burnside sought different ways to engage with his students. Years ago, he would wear goofy-looking pants on Fridays just to get kids to talk to him.
"First time I met him is when I seen him in the hallway and I was like, 'What's up, Mr. Burnside?'" student Landerius Hayes told "CBS Mornings." "He just dropped everything, smiled at me, and he was like, 'What's up, DeDe?'"
Hayes, who is also known as DeDe, was just another kid who said "hi" in the hallway. But that all changed in his junior year.
Unbeknownst to Burnside, Hayes was struggling outside of the classroom. He was homeless.

Retired Kaufman County Judge Michael Chitty denied an appeal for a murder new trial on Saturday, Aug. 22, in a one-page ruling, obtained by WFAA.
"Upon reviewing the motion, the record, the evidence and argument, and the relevant case law, the Court has determined that the motion should be denied," Judge Chitty wrote.
Anthony's legal team can appeal the ruling.
“We respect, and expected, the court’s decision denying the motion for a new trial. The jury’s guilty verdict stands, and we remain confident in the process. Every defendant has the right to appeal, and our thoughts and prayers remain with the Metcalf family in the painful wake of last week’s hearing,"
Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis wrote in a statement to WFAA after the ruling.
Russell Wilson, an appellate lawyer for Anthony, told WFAA in a statement that his team is disappointed in the court's decision:
