As Cisco Live 2026 comes to an end, I’m reminded how far a little determination can take you.

This week I completed advanced labs, met amazing people from around the world, explored new technologies, and even discussed potential future collaboration opportunities for VearaLink.

Growing up in Aruba, we have a saying:

“Sopi pura pura ta sali salu.”

A fast-cooked soup turns out salty.

The lesson is simple: don’t rush the process.

Whether it’s learning, building a business, earning certifications, or pursuing your goals, taking the time to do things right matters.

A boy from a small island in Aruba stood among some of the best engineers and technology leaders in the world this week—and I’m still hungry to learn more.

As someone who works in technology every day, it’s always interesting to see how automation and AI are finding their way into unexpected places.

Not going to lie—the coffee was pretty good too. 😄

🚗 One of the unexpected highlights from Cisco Live 2026…

Getting my first ride in a Zoox autonomous vehicle.

I’ll admit it—I spent most of the week calling it “ZOAX” before finally being corrected. 😆

No driver. No steering wheel. Just technology, sensors, AI, and engineering working together to navigate real-world streets.

It’s one thing to hear people talk about the future. It’s another thing to ride in it.

Pretty amazing experience.

Day 3 at Cisco Live 2026

What an incredible day.

Started the day with front-row seats at the keynote, spent time connecting with fellow CCIEs from around the world, attended the CCIE Reception, and wrapped up the evening celebrating with some of the best engineers and technology professionals in the industry.

One of the things I appreciate most about Cisco Live isn’t just the technology—it’s the people, the relationships, and the opportunity to learn from others who are passionate about what they do.

Definitely a day to remember.

Day 2 at Cisco Live 2026

One of the best parts of events like this is the people you meet and the conversations you have.

Today I had the opportunity to speak with my friend Cisco Principal Solutions Engineer Amy Ryan and get her thoughts on where collaboration technology is headed and what organizations should be paying attention to.

Always great learning from experts, sharing ideas, and hearing different perspectives from across the industry.
