Time for another Rider Spotlight!
RIDER SPOTLIGHT: MEET LINDSEY!
This week’s Rider Spotlight is Lindsey, who has been riding for 6 years and has practically grown up at Longview Stables!
💕 How it all started:
Lindsey’s love for horses started early—when she was just 3 or 4, she was already asking her mom to buy a farm so she could pet a horse! Her aunt and grandma found Longview Stables and gave her riding lessons for Christmas right before she turned 5. She’s been riding ever since!
🐎 Favorite horses:
Lindsey loves riding her horse William (Undulata's Crackin Up) because he’s a show horse and so much fun to ride. The bond between the 2 of them is fun to see. William has quite the funny personality too! She also loves Lightning, who she can relax and goof around with!
❤️ Favorite thing about the barn:
For Lindsey, it’s more than just riding. She loves everything she gets to learn, being around the horses, and especially the people and environment.
“It’s a great place to be!”
⭐ Proudest accomplishment:
Moving from Academy to Performance and having a great first show with William! That’s a pretty exciting milestone after years of hard work in the saddle.
🏆 Big dreams:
Lindsey has some BIG goals for the future! She would love to work toward showing Equitation at World’s—and maybe even bring home a World’s Championship in Park someday!
We love watching our riders grow from horse-loving little kids into confident young equestrians with big goals. Keep dreaming big and working hard, Lindsey! We can’t wait to see where you and William go next. ❤️🐴

MEET THE LONGVIEW STAFF! Next up is Kendall, our group riding instructor!!
1. Tell us a little about yourself and what you do at Longview Stables!
Hi! My name is Kendall! I am a riding instructor at Longview Stables. I work alongside an awesome team to ensure a fun, safe environment where riders can cultivate their love for horses while growing their skills and knowledge!
2. How did you first get involved with horses, and how long have they been part of your life?
I can’t think of a time when horses were not a part of my life. If someone asked me if I was raised in a barn, I’d probably just say yes. My great-aunt Patty owns Longview and my grandma brought me out to be introduced to horses at an age that I’m too young to even remember. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have the opportunities that I have over the years. From competing nationally on powerful American Saddlebreds to hanging out with our lesson horses, I’ve been blessed to call this place home. Being mentored by incredible horsewomen like Patty and Kayla
is something that I wouldn’t change for the world. Not only has it made me a better rider and instructor myself, but also a better person. Horses and good people have a way of bringing out
the best in you.
3. Do you have a favorite horse—past or present—and what makes them special to you?
While many horses have captured pieces of my heart along the way, there are some that can’t be described as anything other than special. Cloverleaf Turner Jake (TJ) was the most special horse I’ve ever worked with. He opened a world to me that I had never seen before. I have irreplaceable memories of competing at shows all over the country, including The World’s Championship Horse Show in Kentucky. I’d like to think he took care of me for a long time.
From a little nine year old entering a big show ring to an eighteen year old girl showing him for the last time, it was a bond I haven’t experienced since. He was a powerhouse and will always
hold the most special place in my heart.
Although I love all of our lesson horses at Longview, Goldie is my favorite. We rescued Goldie last summer. When she got here you wouldn’t have thought much of her, she was skin and bones.
After some good TLC, she got healthy and proved to be a beautiful mare. I got to work with her to integrate her into our lesson program, which has been really special and a new experience for
me. Everyone out at the barn knows that Goldie and I are pals. I’d like to think I’m her favorite too, but I suppose you’d have to ask her.
4. What is your favorite thing about being part of the Longview Stables family?
I always brag to people that I get to make money doing what I love. My favorite thing about being part of the Longview family is the people that make it one. My job may be to teach, but I’d
like to think that I learn just as many lessons as I give. The example set by Patty, Kayla, and Nancy has given me a strong work ethic and shown me that I’m capable of doing hard things,
which I wouldn’t give up for anything. Every lesson I get to hear so many different stories from excitement about new sparkly unicorns to hard work weeks. Whatever the day may have held for people, I don’t think words will ever be able to describe the joy I feel when someone’s face lights up as they walk through our doors. Plus, I get to hang out with horses for work!
5. What’s one fun fact about you that people at the barn might not know?
People at the barn may not know that I am a senior in college majoring in Psychology with a dual degree in clinical counseling. After getting my masters, my goal is to integrate my clinical
education with equine experience and work in equine assisted therapy!

🐴 RIDER SPOTLIGHT: MEET CHARLOTTE! 🐴
This week’s Rider Spotlight is Charlotte, who has been riding at Longview for about one year!
💕 How it all started:
Charlotte has always liked horses, so she decided to give riding a try by attending one of our summer camps. She had so much fun that she kept riding—and a year later, she’s still going strong!
🐎 Favorite Longview horse:
How can she possibly choose just one?! Charlotte says she likes them all because they’re all fun to ride!
❤️ Favorite thing about the barn:
One of Charlotte’s favorite parts of coming to the barn is getting to see her instructor! We love the special relationships our riders build with the people who help them learn and grow.
⭐ Proudest accomplishment:
Getting to ride in an English saddle! Every new skill is another exciting step forward.
🌟 Big goal:
Charlotte hopes that someday she can become a helper at the barn! We think that’s a pretty great goal—learning to ride is only one part of being a horse person, and there is always so much to learn at the barn.
We love watching Charlotte’s confidence and love for horses continue to grow. Keep learning, riding, and having fun, Charlotte! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next!
