Inclusive rodeo "breaks down barriers" in Colorado's Douglas County Sunday is the last day of the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo, a special tradition that goes back more than a century in the community. Yeehaw – the Unbridled Rodeo rode into town last week and what a day it was!

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us at the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo, where we celebrated inclusivity and community through an adaptive rodeo made for everyone to enjoy, regardless of ability.

A special shoutout to all our partners: Douglas County Colorado, Integrated Life Choices, Autism Store Colorado, Affinity Ranch, Colorado Ballet, thehivecommunitycenter, McNichols Miniatures, The Mane Mission, and Wellspring Community

Thank you also to the fairground staff and dedicated volunteers who made this rodeo possible, along with Douglas County Commissioners Laydon and Van Winkle for their support — we couldn’t have done it without you all!

Until next time, happy trails, folks! 🤠

In our latest Policy Pulse blog post, DP Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director Matt VanAuken breaks down what it is, why it matters, and how you can follow along.

Meetings of the Commission are open to the public. DP is watching closely and will share updates on how individuals can share their stories as opportunities arise.

There are some days you just don’t forget, and the Exceptional Rodeo at the Arapahoe County Fair last Friday was one of them!

This adaptive event brought the thrill of the rodeo to participants, families, volunteers, and the whole community for a morning of joy, inclusion, and pure cowboy spirit. Thank you to our partners at Arapahoe County Government, Arapahoe County Fair and Event Center , Exceptional Rodeo, and Autism Store Colorado, and to every volunteer and supporter who gave their time and heart. Special thanks to Arapahoe County Commissioners Baker and Warren-Gully for joining the fun!
