Those that know me know I am a loving, present, supportive, hands on father. My son is 19 and in the US Navy on the US Ronald Reagan Aircraft carrier, my 15 yr old daughter is about to enter 10th grade this week. She spent 2 weeks in the Canary Islands, Spain with her grandparents. Both so far away, yet they call and text me with fun stuff on their own…often.

Since 2014, with love, they’re unfairly thriving / surviving through divorced parents who offer constant support. Since 2021 Amanda and I have them 50% of each month. TX Child Support legally requires 2 measly limited weekends monthly visitation.

Life’s messy. The Department of State and TX Attorney General are ruthless. I do understand rights against deadbeat dads but I’m far from it. Even with accolades and awards, musicians often struggle financially. I do. Paying child support and even doing (undocumented) split custody AND arrears draws insurmountable monthly payments + interest. Think SHARECROPPING.

I work hard and I love every gig and opportunity. The new smack down is to revoke passports over child support arrears unpaid / owed over $2500. No passport / no work for the likes of me. Make it make sense.

I am pulling all resources to stay rising. I meditate and still approach life with grace and self respect even during this turmoil.

I claim continued growth and care for my children. I claim liberation and determination as you can’t keep a good man down.
