My daughter ended up in the ER today with chest pain and shortness of breath. Thankfully, nothing obviously dangerous has been found so far, but we’re still looking for answers. One possibility her doctors mentioned is stress.
It made me think about how powerful the stress response really is.
Chronic stress can affect our heart rate, breathing, sleep, digestion, hormones, blood sugar, immune system and so much more.
Stress isn’t just in your head. Stress is physiology.
So I’m starting a series on what stress actually does to the body—and, more importantly, what we can do to help our nervous systems recover. ❤️

Sometimes the darkest seasons don’t look dark from the outside.
You’re still showing up. Still working. Still smiling. Still doing all the things.
But inside, something is missing and something feels very wrong.
It is terribly uncomfortable and you want something to change! Now!
But…
I’m learning not to rush through this season.
To listen. To surrender. And to trust that I don’t have to see the whole path to take the next step. To know that all difficult times are here to help us become even better versions of ourselves ❤️

I woke up in one of the most beautiful places in the world—with my heart pounding and my mind already trying to fix everything.
So today I’m practicing something different.
Breathing. Noticing the beauty. Surrendering what I can’t control right now.
Maybe healing isn’t never feeling fear again. Maybe it’s realizing it’s an emotion, feeling it, and holding space for it

BRAIN FOG DOESN’T AUTOMATICALLY MEAN YOUR BRAIN IS DETERIORATING.
Can’t find the word? Forgot why you walked into the room? Losing your train of thought mid-sentence?
New research is giving us a fascinating look at the brain during the menopause transition, and those frustrating cognitive symptoms aren’t necessarily explained by structural brain decline.
Your brain is functioning in a changing hormonal environment. Estrogen influences memory, attention, neurotransmitters, sleep and brain energy—and when hormones fluctuate, you may FEEL cognitively different.
Brain fog is real. But it doesn’t automatically mean your brain is failing. ❤️
Your brain may be adapting, not deteriorating.

WHAT IF YOUR MEDICATION SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING THE WAY IT USED TO?
It might be time to look at your hormones.
A woman’s biology changes dramatically throughout her life—from menstrual cycles and pregnancy to perimenopause and menopause.
And researchers are now studying how those hormonal shifts may change the way medications move through and act in our bodies.
So when a woman says, “This medication doesn’t work for me like it used to,” maybe we should listen.
🔥 Women aren’t just smaller men. It’s time medicine caught up.

ON A GLP-1? (Or 2 or 3)? The number on the scale isn’t telling you the whole story.
Losing 20 pounds sounds great—but what were those 20 pounds made of?
Fat? Muscle? Both?
GLP-1s can be powerful tools, but I want people using them intelligently. Your goal shouldn’t simply be to weigh less. It should be to lose excess fat while preserving as much valuable muscle as possible.

Plot twist: Testosterone isn’t just a “male hormone.” 😳 Duh!
Women have testosterone too, and it plays an important role in sexual health, desire, and overall well-being.
For years, the menopause conversation has centered largely around estrogen and progesterone. Now, testosterone in women is finally getting more serious attention and research.
It’s about time we studied the whole hormonal picture (in women).🙌
Would you consider testosterone therapy if it were right for you?

I get to do more than one job I love, and that’s only possible because of an incredible team. ❤️
So grateful for my Upgrade Labs Fifth Street crew. The way you take care of our members, our package holders, and—just as importantly—each other allows me to step away and spend days like today in the operating room doing another job I truly love.
Knowing our members are in such capable, caring hands means more than you know. I’m incredibly grateful for each of you. 🫶

What if your friends gossiped about you… but only about how AMAZING your life has become? ✨
Saturday I tried an activation called “Golden Gossip.” You share where you want to be a year from now, then two women talk about you as if it’s ALL already happening—and they’re genuinely excited for you.
It was surprisingly powerful. 💫
Try it with two friends: What would they be gossiping about you one year from now?

A little damage… in the name of younger skin. ✨
I had an IPL treatment a couple of days ago! IPL uses targeted pulses of light to address age spots and spider veins while triggering repair pathways associated with collagen remodeling and healthier gene expression in the skin.
So for about a week, I’ll be rocking some darker freckles and tiny areas where spider veins were treated… and then, hopefully, better than new. 🙌
