Cirque Vida is seeking highly collaborative contemporary circus artists for an upcoming original production in Central Texas. We are looking for artists who are passionate about storytelling through movement and enjoy working in an ensemble-driven creative process.

Contract Details

- Location: Central Texas
- Rehearsals & Performances: October 2–12
- Paid rehearsals and performances
- Flights and accommodations provided

Seeking

1. Cyr Wheel Artist

- Strong Cyr wheel technique
- Secondary specialty in Contortion or a Vertical Aerial Apparatus (silks, rope)
- Experience with contemporary dance and collaborative creation

2. Contortionist

- Strong contortion technique
- Secondary specialty in a Vertical Aerial Apparatus or Cyr Wheel
- Experience with contemporary dance and collaborative creation

Requirements

All applicants must:

- Have experience with dance and choreography
- Be comfortable learning and performing ensemble choreography and group acrobatics
- Enjoy collaborative creation and devised work
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States

Juan Sebastian Cruz is a Colombian-American performer who proudly calls Houston, TX home. He started juggling in high school as a hobby but it wasn't until after graduating from college that he discovered the rola bola and truly fell in love with the world of circus. He has been balancing, clowning, juggling, and entertaining audiences ever since.
