Hayley Mae is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter blending soulful pop with jazz-tinged harmony, acoustic intimacy, and the emotional honesty of someone living in the beautifully chaotic in-between. A Berklee College of Music graduate, she moves effortlessly from soft, vulnerable storytelling to warm, resonant belts. Her early career included a sync placement on SyFy’s Helix, marking her evolution from indie-folk beginnings toward the soulful, character-rich pop she performs today. Hayley is currently building The Messy Middle, a collection of songs exploring anxiety, self-worth, perfectionism, overwhelm, and the awkward hilarity of becoming the next version of yourself.
The “. . .” of doom
went to SXSW thinking I’d just observe, meet people, and get a feel for everything
somehow ended up in the artist lounge - like I accidentally snuck into a place I wasn’t entirely supposed to be
and then… I ended up performing
no warm-up, had been talking all day, fully did not plan for that, but I did it anyway
and it went well… like, actually well
that felt pretty damn good

so yeah, not what I expected, but I think I got exactly what I needed
