On Black History Bike Ride’s 6th annual Juneteenth Ride, led by Talib Abdullahi, hundreds of cyclists bike together to learn under-told stories of Black history. This journey explores the transition from plantation sites to freedom communities, highlights the impact of the 1928 City Plan’s ‘Negro District’ in east Austin, and celebrates the contributions of Black community leaders.

Been in and out of town this summer and fall and this is a big reason why—I’m on the road with Ty Myers and crew for The Legal Tour as a part of the horn section.
First show was Stagecoach in CA (whirlwind) and tonight it’s Red Rocks in CO 🙏🏾 much love to this camp, this crew and this band! 16 shows in, 20 somethin to go this year!
For my TX family—we’re performing Nov 20th and 21st in ATX and Fort Worth.

Daniel Fears Day (June 8th) through the years
This year we’re celebrating with a movie premiere on June 17th. It’s still about community, it’s still about original music, but we’re pairing it with a new film produced by
I’m sharing a project I’m excited about.
It’s a soundtrack to a new documentary about Austin’s Black History.
I got to include the work of some of my favorite artists in Austin— Jackie Venson, BLK ODYSSY, LARA’, Zach Person, Sweet Limb, blakchyl, Mobley, Magna Carda and Riders Against the Storm.
It’s gonna be a great time—I’d love to see yall out there.

This group has taken many forms over the years—excited to showcase the sounds we’ve been cultivating over these last few years.

For one hour this Saturday I got to take over the airwaves at KUTX, sharing music from some of my favorite artists from a riiich history of Black Music in the US.
It’s impossible to get a piece of EVERY style, every type of song every major artist that I love from our history, but I enjoyed the parts I pulled from. Hope you do too.
