📚 What does it mean to be a Title I school?

You may have heard Grandview Hills referred to as a Title I campus, but what does that actually mean?

Title I is a federal program that provides additional funding to schools serving a higher percentage of students from economically disadvantaged households. Those funds are designed to help schools provide additional academic support, resources and opportunities so that every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Being a Title I campus can help provide resources for things like:
• additional instructional support
• academic intervention and student resources
• family engagement opportunities
• educational materials and programs
• support for students who may need a little extra help along the way

It also means family involvement matters! Each year, families have an opportunity to learn more about how Title I funding supports our campus, how those funds are used and how parents can be involved in helping shape our school’s priorities.

Grandview Hills is hosting two Title I Parent Meetings this week:

Whether Title I is completely new to you or you simply want to better understand what it means for our school, we encourage our GHE families to attend.

You have likely seen him at arrival, dismissal, recess, in the cafeteria, and all around campus because somehow he's everywhere all at once!
