My favorite quotes from Creative Mornings last speaker Richard Samuel:

"Life is too short for imposter syndrome."

"You're an artist as soon as you say you're an artist."

He shared his back and forth journey from a life in football to art and is the founder of RichesArt Gallery here in Austin RichesArt Gallery + Studio | Austin, Texas . First though we were serenaded by the lovely voice of Javier Jara Javier Jara

The book world is filled with such gorgeous pieces of art from the covers to the cards to the inserts. Me along with my best friend and book aficionado Chelsea went to our first Book Con: The City Fling and it was fantastic! Everyone was friendly and welcoming, especially the authors. Also I can't help but have a good time with Chelz.

I was excited to learn that Sarah Hawley was there as I'm telling Chelz how much I enjoyed her book A Werewolf's Guide to Seducing a Vampire that I spotted in the on-site bookstore. The characters are funny, quirky, and very relatable. To be honest it's not everyday you drunk purchase a killer in a crystal for 99 cents and who doesn't love a magical town? The one woman show by the vampire lives rent free in my head. Anyway Sarah was a joy to talk to. Check out her books and any beautiful tome that catches your eye.

The biggest takeaway for me from Crop Con day 2 was to always make time for your passion projects. They may lead nowhere or they may generate cool opportunities. It doesn't matter so long as don't make work your whole life and burn out your creative flame. It was further confirmation to keep working on my art and channel.

Practicing drawing ninjas.

It started with me drawing a bug and turned into whatever this is. Was also just having fun with my acrylic brushes. Might draw this again in another pose.

Made Valentine's Cards for Veterans as part of a work initiative to spread love for that season.

Too cute for adults?

I get introduced to so many cool spaces in Austin thanks to Creative Mornings. In March we met at Art Hub ATX the largest artist and creative studio building in Texas. Exploring the space after led to some very cool art.

But a big highlight for me was the tap dancing and trombone playing musical guests, Paolo Dumancas and Matty Owens from ATX Artists for Social Impact. Tap is an art form I rarely see in person and I'm a big fan of musicals. Singing in the Rain being top tier.

We got some Austin history from a true Austin Native Kelly Chappell and I got introduced to a new podcast.

Drew this cutie with acrylic markers and a marker with shine. Had trouble identifying the original artist. Still not sure about who made it.
