๐ The first weekend of Fishbowl School went swimmingly! ๐ฆ Inaugural Fishbowl resident Andie Flores held a live brainstorming work session with her writing and directing collaborator Sam Mayer to develop the story and background for an upcoming play. Like a writers room in concentration, it was a rare look behind the scenes to see how art is made. Watch the full stream on our website, and come check Andieโs process out in person every Saturday in June.
Fishbowl School, devised and curated by Andie Flores, invites guest artists into her residency space for real-time experimentation, conversation, and creative exchange. Audiences are welcome to observe the process as it unfolds.
Her first Fishbowl School guest, Sam Mayer, is a playwright based in Austin whose work has been presented at Fusebox Festival, OUTsider Festival, The Museum of Human Achievement, Co-Lab Projects, and Intramural Theater, among others. He holds an MFA from the Michener Center for Writers at UT Austin. He is also the upcoming and second Fishbowl Resident for DORFโs inaugural Fishbowl Residency.
