Final Call: Montana Fire Alarm License Renewal Deadline May 31

Montana licensed fire alarm installers, salespeople, and servicers, if you havenโ€™t renewed your license yet, now is the time. May 31 is the final day to send your renewal to the Department of Labor
Business Standards Division, Fire Prevention Licensing

What You Need to Renew

* Completed renewal application
* Renewal fee
* Proof of 4 hours of approved continuing education (CEUs)

Bonus: Apply Your CEUs to NICET

Remember, the continuing education you complete for Montana can also count toward your NICET renewal. Many approved courses qualify.

Why This Matters

If you work without a valid Montana license, you risk fines, legal trouble, and losing contracts. General contractors and clients check licenses. Donโ€™t let an expired license stop your business.
Make sure to submit your renewal by May 31.

Donโ€™t wait. Renew now.

Your Montana Fire Alarm License Renewal Deadline is May 31

If you hold a Montana license as a fire alarm installer, salesperson, or servicer, please note that May 31 is the deadline to renew. If you miss the deadline, your license will lapse, and you wonโ€™t be able to work until itโ€™s restored.

What You Need to Do
Renewal is managed through the Montana Department of Labor Business Standards Division, Fire Prevention Licensing. Include your completed application and fee, along with proof of 4 approved continuing education units (CEUs). These CEUs help you stay informed about code changes, new technologies, and safety standards. If you donโ€™t have the hours, renewal will not be possible.

Why Renewing Matters
First, itโ€™s required by law. Operating without a valid license may result in fines, citations, or even business suspension. Second, your reputation can benefit from staying current. Clients and general contractors often check license status, and a current license demonstrates reliability. Third, insurance and liability coverage usually require an active license. A lapse could affect your coverage if something happens on a job.

Donโ€™t Wait
The renewal process takes some time, so consider submitting your materials early to avoid any last-minute issues. A few hours of training now can help keep your business on track throughout the year.

Stay compliant. Stay current. Renew by May 31.
