Morning Awakening!

One of my favorite moments to photograph is the few seconds after a bird finishes bathing.

This Pied-billed Grebe paused just long enough for the droplets and early morning light to come together before calmly drifting away again. It's a reminder that even the smallest moments in nature can be surprisingly expressive.

A Moment of Quiet | World Owl Day

Not every memorable wildlife encounter involves action.

This male Barred Owl, spent a few peaceful moments resting in the warm evening light before becoming active again after sunset.

Its eyes may be closed, but its hearing remains remarkably alert, allowing it to stay aware of everything happening around it.

On World Owl Day, it's a reminder that some of nature's most beautiful moments are also its quietest.

Silent Flight!

One silent pass through the golden evening light before disappearing back into the trees.

📷

Quiet moment before the wild begins.

This cottontail paused just long enough to catch the light and melt into the greens around it. The soft background and low angle made this one feel more like a portrait than a wildlife shot.

Shot on Canon R5 with 200–800mm lens.

Same unexpected visitor — this time mid-hunt.
A Fork-tailed Flycatcher, far from home, doing what it does best.

A rare visitor in Central Texas — a Fork-tailed Flycatcher, far from its usual range in Central and South America.
Likely carried off course during spring migration, this elegant flyer paused just long enough for a moment of symmetry.

Hanging on for a quick bite 🌿

Nature always finds the most creative ways to feed, balance, and survive.
Caught this little acrobat enjoying fresh spring growth in the warm Texas light.
