Senior living and wellness go hand-in-hand. Today’s senior communities offer a wide range of amenities, from state-of-the-art fitness centers and on-site healthcare suites to meditation gardens, healthy dining options, and access to fitness and lifestyle coaches. Not to mention the outdoor activities, which include golf, pickleball, horseback riding, and hiking. Residents don’t just expect such things; they demand them. However, it’s important to remember that supporting senior living residents’ wellness journey means more than giving them a map and pointing them in the right direction. It means giving them the tools, resources, and guidance to envision the course of their journey and how they travel safely with joy and purpose. Click here to read more. ⬇️

Happy National Wellness Month! At Pi, we know that design plays an important role in supporting wellness, connection, and engagement, so for National Wellness Month, we asked our team how they prioritize their well-being. Here's what keeps them feeling their best because wellness starts with the choices we make every day:
1. Keep your mind sharp with daily word games and brain puzzles
2. Build meaningful relationships and build roots for a strong support system
3. Stay active by going to the gym or taking walks around the neighborhood
4. Fuel your body with wholesome, nutritious foods
5. Spend quality time with family and friends
6. Keep up with your annual health checkups
7. Get outside and enjoy nature
8. Try something new and exciting, whether it's heated yoga, swimming, or cooking a new recipe.
Wellness looks different for everyone, but small, consistent habits can make a lasting impact. Here's to staying active, connected, and engaged this month and all year long. What activity do you enjoy that promotes wellness?

Courtyards, walking paths, and patios are more than just visual amenities; they are extensions of the living environment. Well-designed outdoor spaces encourage residents to connect with nature, stay active, socialize with neighbors, and enjoy the health and wellness benefits of spending time outdoors. Loneliness doesn't discriminate by age; however, seniors are especially vulnerable, and mobility challenges, illness, and distance from loved ones can turn even a well-staffed community into an isolating place. The solution? Design. Pi designs communities that actively encourage connections; we help create healthier, vibrant communities where people thrive.
