Carnivero
We specialize in growing carnivorous plants, rare aroids, tropicals, and other botanical wonders!
Carnivero is a nursery specializing in carnivorous plants with a focus on plants for the collector. Over the last 17 years, we've built one of the finest collections of carnivorous plants in the USA and will be offering many of our divisions and selectively bred plants for sale. We also regularly import plants from nurseries around the world and will be offering these plants to our customers.
Fall has finally arrived in Texas! Cooler weather and shorter days are upon us after a long, hot summer.
•
That means it’s time to start keeping an eye on our temperate plants and their looming dormancy period. For many others in the US and around the world, cooler temperatures have firmly set in, and your plants may already have begun getting a bit sleepy.
•
While many carnivorous plants can grow all year round (see our recent video for that one), others need a yearly dormancy, namely the Venus flytrap, Sarracenia, and some Drosera.
•
In future videos, we will break each plant’s dormancy down in more detail. But for now…enjoy the changing of the season 🍂

Part 1 of Staking Plants with Dave! We often get questions about how to stake a Nepenthes. While the process itself is rather simple, every Nepenthes is different and trying to manipulate that plant for the first time can be intimidating.
What if I break it?
What if the stem snaps?
What if it freaks out?
What if I disturb the roots?
Dave walks you through step by step on how to stake even the most awkward of Nepenthes.
And next week, we’ll talk aroids!
Let us know if you’ve got any questions!

We get asked all the time: how do I feed my pitcher plant? Especially if I don’t have bugs? Today our Horticulture Manager is going to walk you through a few different non-insect alternatives, as well as talk about pitcher loss, nutrient absorption, and frequency of feeding. Let us know in the comments if you have any questions!
