Here's one a lot of people miss: the air can feel fine while the ground is cooking. At 77°F outside, pavement in the sun can reach 125°F and burn a dog's paw pads in about 60 seconds. Easy test before any walk or potty break: put the back of your hand on the pavement. If you can't hold it there for 7 seconds, it's too hot for their paws. Stick to grass and shade. 🐾

Could you spot heatstroke before it turns serious? The early signs: heavy panting, thick drooling, bright or dark red gums, wobbliness, and vomiting. If you see them, get the pet somewhere cool immediately, offer cool (not ice-cold) water, and head for a vet.
