Bull Creek Residence is in its final weeks of construction with Forsite Studio. The kitchen and a second shower follow the same idea, with light arriving from above through slats or open to the sky.

A terracotta breeze-block screen and cedar slats hold the courtyard between the two units.

South Second A+B is a two-unit residence in Austin by Forsite Studio, with blue lap siding and board-and-batten volumes stepped apart around a shared gravel court. Sliding glass on both sides of the living room opens it to the street on one hand and the court on the other.

Three Forsite Studio living rooms, three different sites, one shared idea: let the glass carry the view.

At Terrace, a slider under a curved arch stays shut but transparent, framing the deck, the lounge chairs, and the neighbor's gabled roof beyond. At Mariposa, a vaulted wood-beam ceiling runs out to a full-height glass wall over a treed yard. At Elizabeth Street, the glass wall slides open onto the deck and pool, and the room's fourth wall disappears.

The same move, three houses, one climate: cantilever the building over the space you want to sit in.

At Camp Koko, the upper volume extends out over the outdoor kitchen and plunge pool, so the deepest shade lands exactly where people gather. Rio Vista does the same thing, with a shade sail picking up the corner the cantilever doesn't reach. Embouldin's second floor extends out to cover the pool deck below it the same way. Forsite Studio keeps returning to one answer for Texas heat: let the house itself do the shading, before anything gets bolted on.
