Child Inc Early Head Start and Head Start Centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals. NAEYC defines the gold standard for early childhood education and care. Schools who wish to be accredited by NAEYC undergo intense review. To earn NAEYC Accreditation, Child Inc underwent an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related Accreditation Criteria. CORE PROGRAMS-
Early Head Start (EHS) for 0 to 3-year-olds:
Designed to serve pregnant women, infants, toddlers and parents. EHS is a comprehensive Early Education and Child Development Program providing a variety of activities that help children grow mentally, socially, physically and emotionally. Our infants and toddlers receive all of the Head Start comprehensive services, such as early education, health, dental, nutrition, mental health, social services, parent training, and parental involvement opportunities. To accommodate the unique needs of our families, EHS offers both center-based and home-based learning environments. Head Start for 3 to 5 year-olds:
Head Start is a comprehensive early education and child development program enhancing a child's cognitive, social, and emotional development. The program provides a learning environment that supports children's growth in many areas such as language, literacy, and social and emotional development based on each child's individual needs. All children in Head Start benefit from a comprehensive health program, promoting preventive health care and assistance in establishing a medical home. Home Based Services 0-5 year olds:
Our in-home services are designed to serve stay-at-home mothers or mothers-to-be. The goal is to support mothers to become their child's first teacher. Services are provided by trained home-based teachers who conduct hour-and-a-half weekly visits that include instructional and parenting education to mothers, and modeling techniques with the child while the mother observes. The program utilizes the "Parents as Teachers" and Big Day for PreK curriculum which are both nationally recognized. Parents are offered the opportunity to attend two group socializations each month to observe their children interacting with other children, socialize with other mothers and participate in a parent education presentation. In addition, to ensure that home-based children receive the full range of Head Start services, the home-based teacher and Family Advocate serve as a case manager for health, dental, nutrition, mental health and special needs services. Parent, Family and Community Engagement-
Head Start emphasizes the role of parents as their child's first and most important teacher. Programming helps build relationships with families that support family well-being and many other important areas. Parents' positive involvement in the early childhood stage can help in their child's cognitive development as well as school readiness and achievement. Parent involvement provides opportunities for parent participation in a variety of program activities that support child and adult development, including policy and Child Inc program decision making. Family Engagement provides ongoing, goal-directed relationships between Child Inc staff and families that are mutual, culturally responsive, and that support what is best for children and families both individually and collectively. Staff and families share responsibility for the learning and development of children, the progress toward outcomes for children and families, and for parent involvement in our program.

Head Start Means Protecting Families

Head Start is more than preschool. It provides comprehensive services that help children build early learning skills, receive developmental screenings, access disability supports, and connect families with critical resources.
Proposed federal changes to Head Start Performance Standards could weaken requirements that help ensure quality services for children and families, including protections for children with disabilities, family engagement opportunities, multilingual learner supports, and teacher-child ratio standards. These changes could make it harder to identify developmental concerns early and reduce the comprehensive supports that help children enter kindergarten ready to succeed.
For Central Texas families, the stakes are high. Strong Head Start standards help ensure children receive the services and support they need during the most critical years of development.

Smiles, laughter, and creativity filled our centers as grandparents and caregivers joined children for a special Painting with a Twist activity! Together, they created beautiful works of art while making memories that will last far beyond the paint drying.
Extended family members play an important role in a child's growth and development. Grandparents, relatives, and other caring adults provide children with a sense of belonging, cultural connection, encouragement, and unconditional love. These relationships help build confidence, strengthen social-emotional skills, and create a strong support system for lifelong success.
Our Whole Child approach recognizes children thrive when the important people in their lives are engaged in their learning journey. Activities like this bring generations together, strengthen family bonds, and create meaningful opportunities for connection.
We love seeing the unique artwork created by children alongside their grandparents and caregivers. Each masterpiece tells a story of creativity, teamwork, and the special relationships that help children grow and thrive.

Open House Across Child Inc!
Our stand-alone centers are welcoming families for Open House events, giving parents the opportunity to reconnect with teachers, meet their child’s classroom team, and get a closer look at what a day of learning looks like at Child Inc.
But it’s more than simply seeing the classroom—it’s seeing the learning in action! From hands-on activities to meaningful conversations and play-based experiences, families get to see how children learn, explore, build relationships, and develop new skills each day.
One of the fun activities families may see is our babydoll activity, where children practice caring for their “babies” through pretend play. Activities like these encourage language, social-emotional development, problem-solving, and fine-motor skills while making learning fun.
We love welcoming our families into the classroom and giving them a chance to see their children’s learning firsthand. ❤️
Welcome back, families! We’re excited for another year of learning, growing, and connecting together.

Jeremiah Program’s Executive Director shared the importance of our partnership to open two EHS classrooms on their campus and the power of bringing organizations together to leverage programs, resources, and expertise. When we align our strengths, families can access the support they need in one connected community—helping parents pursue their goals while their children receive quality early childhood education.
This is what whole-family support looks like: creating opportunities for children to thrive while helping parents build pathways toward self-sufficiency.
We’re proud to stand alongside Jeremiah Program as we continue building a stronger support system for Austin families. 💙

Today we celebrated a meaningful milestone with a ribbon cutting for two new Early Head Start classrooms created through our partnership with the Jeremiah Program Austin.
This partnership is about more than opening classrooms—it’s about leveraging programs, resources, and relationships to support the whole family. By bringing quality early childhood education together with family support, opportunities for higher education and workforce-focused services, we can help parents pursue their goals while their children have a strong foundation for learning and development.
A special thank you to Travis County Commissioner Jeff Travillion for joining us and for recognizing the importance of partnerships that help families move toward self-sufficiency and prosperity. When community partners work together, we can create stronger pathways and greater opportunities for children and families.
Here’s to opening doors, leveraging our collective strengths, and building a stronger future—together. ✂️🎉
