Good news - we're planning on continuing our Classics Play Reading Club this year!

For those of you new to UT Classics, once a month we get a group together to read a play out loud. The focus is on introducing folx to modern plays that intersect with the ancient Mediterranean. Everyone at every level of interest is welcome, even non-Classics students, and you only need to read if you want to! We normally have a mix of folx interested in reading and others who just want to hear the plays.

This semester, we are organizing our readings around the production of hippolytos that Classics student Lindsay Neil will be staging, so we'll be focusing on various adaptations of the Hippolytus myth.

Our reading dates and selections will be:

All our readings will start at 4pm in Dr. Gurd's performance lab, WAG 5 (right across from the Classics library on the ground floor).

We typically read the play out loud, take a break, and then spend some time discussing it. Normally we go for two hours, til around 6pm.
