Pendulum Hearts

Huge shout out to all the dancers out there, especially the ones at Falcon Bowl - Riverwest we loved playing for y’all! Thank you Philip Godfrey for these spectacular photos! Until next time, Adios Milwaukee!

Introducing the Mutton Man! Link is in the comments.

The lyrics of “Mutton Man” originated during an afternoon of washing my clothes at the laundromat on Speedway and 38th street in Austin TX. While I was waiting for my wash a man with extremely pronounced mutton chops walked in to do some laundry. After he unloaded his hamper he proceeded to casually take off the clothes that were on his back and toss those in with the wash. This little moment of weirdness inspired the song “Mutton Man.”

I think this is a good time to let y’all know about a new side project I am starting with funds from the Austin Live Music Fund. It’s called Love Dirt. Don’t worry Pendulum Hearts isn’t going away! I’ve created Love Dirt to showcase my original songs (like Mutton Man) and to serve not only as a vessel for my originals, but also as a platform for visual art, dance and poetry. Pendulum Hearts will still continue to play originals as well as a whole plethora of standards from the western swing, jazz and country world, but some of the stuff I write is just too weird for that, and so I offer you the Infinite Gospel of Love Dirt and Light. Love Dirt for short.

Please consider giving Love Dirt a follow to help us gain some traction and we’ll see you at our first official show on September 13th with Nate Harris at Sahara Lounge ATX Thank you!

Love Dirt is supported in part by an Austin Live Music Fund Grant of Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment.

We had a blast jamming with Toony at Toon In With Me in Chicago! I’m told our performance will be broadcast nationally in a couple of weeks. Thanks Toony Team!

One last night of this tour and it’s tonight (Sat) in Grayslake IL! See you at The Vine Martini & Wine Bar from 8pm - 10pm!

Thank you Milwaukee ❤️

Yo, Happy Tuesday everyone!

We wanna make sure everyone knows about Pendulum Hearts playing for us tomorrow inside of the BBB during Boulder's Block Party from 7-10pm

These guys played a few shows in Boulder last year and they'll be back tomorrow all the way from Austin, Texas. It's a treat for Vilas to have them in the area so lets give them a crowd tomorrow night!

"When it comes to keeping Austin weird, the Pendulum Hearts take the crown. With a unique blend of Gypsy Jazz and Texas Swing they’re keeping the artistic spirit of Austin alive and well."
